Sturdy, handy little gadget.
If you're a tea lover and you're tired of twisting dials and listening to ticking ticking ticking, this is for you. You can time me your tea to whatever strength you like, and it seems quite durable. I managed to knock it over fairly regularly but it has never broken. If it were a Timex watch, I could say "It just keeps on ticking", but, happily, it isn't, and it doesn't 😊

A teatime must have
It does as it should and has made it even easier to try out different teas as I don't have to guess how long it's been. Rather sturdy as well as it doesn't matter how often my cats try messing with it or knocking it over, it has yet to break or crack.

Perfect Tea, Every Time!
This timer is so fun! It's adorable on the shelf and it takes the guess work out of how long to steep! I was setting the timer on the microwave but this is just so much easier, not to mention, it's just cute and fun to use!

Love this!
I drink a lot of tea and I use my microwave timer, as it's the most convenient one I have in the house. That incessant beep beep beep is pretty annoying though, if I'm across the house when it goes off, but I learned to live with it. Recently we went to Scotland and had cream tea in an adorable little tea shop, and they brought one of these to the table. I immediately ordered one and am so happy that I did. It makes my cuppa tea even more enjoyable.

Function Not Beating Form
The good. I like two things: (a) the construction -- stainless steel plates with connecting rods covered with rubber pads, holding the 3 hourglasses together firmly, and (b) colored sand -- green, red, and white -- a nice touch to help the user remember which timer is 3, 4, and 5 minutes, though I wish the white sand was a dark color to make it much easier to see when it finishes running through. A third nice thing is true of all hourglass timers, namely, you can flip them from either end to run the sand back the other way, alternating between what we could call Side A and Side B. The bad. Having spent my career as an engineer, I follow the aphorism "Trust but verify". I trusted the 3 hourglass timers' sands would correspond to 3, 4, and 5 minutes respsectively, as advertised. But when I watched the sands perform against a digital electronic timer, the verification process failed. Miserably, in my opinion. The initial results were so bad that I reran the test about a dozen times to ensure I wasn't going crazy. Running the sand from (arbitrarily chosen) Side A gives the M:SS (minutes and seconds) results of 2:57, 3:55, and 4:54, error rates of 1.7%, 2.1%, and 2.0% respectively for what should be 3:00, 4:00, and 5:00 minutes and zero seconds each. One would think any error over, say, 0.5% would be caught by quality control and be cause for rejection. But it gets worse. Running the sand from Side B gives the even more anomalous results of 3:04, 4:16, and 4:54, error rates of 2.2%, 6.7%, and 2.0% for putative 3-, 4-, and 5-minute times. Only the 5-minute time was consistent in its error rate. I have no idea how the 3- and 4-minute timers had differences of 7 and 21 seconds respectively between running Side A and then Side B. It was so bizarre I spent a lot of time rerunning the timing test just to show the phenomenon was consistent between Side A and Side B. The sand is running through the same orifice, just in the opposite direction, so how can it be so disparate? The product does not perform as advertised, meaning I did not get what I paid for -- I got really good form but really bad function. If I was an astronaut, I would not want the engineers who designed the "Pefect" Tea Timer building my rocket ship. I am returning the product for a refund.

Accurate timing, colours are a bit muted than the picture which is actually a good thing. Makes for a very cute gift.

El arena en dos de las ampollas a veces se detiene, así que no sirven para lo que se supone que era su función, sólo son decorativos.
