Graceful Statue of Our Immaculate Mary, Matchless in Grace!
I am incredibly pleased with this statue! 100% satisfied! (That's the short version) The Statue is the absolute perfect touch for the small devotional/garden area I setting up at my home. The detail is impeccable & it shares all the positive attributes of the larger cement, concrete or bronze statues that are equal in size, but cost 3-4 times as much! Honestly, until you pick it up, you really can't tell that it is not comprised of a much heavier substance. Its comparable to one those prop objects used in theater, movies or practical jokes (i.e. a foam 500 lb. dumbbell, plastic boulder, etc.) but extremely well done. Because of the statue's lightweight, it is extremely mobile, should you want to try it out in a few locations. However, it also offers a port that allows you fill the Statue with sand or water & make it more stationary & wind resistant, as other reviewers have mentioned. Overall, I wanted something that would be eloquent, graceful, reverent & somewhat discrete. I live in the South, where Catholics are fewer in number than in other regions of the US. Comprehension & tolerance is definitely improving, but misconceptions about Mary's role in our faith are still fairly common. However, despite some desire for discreteness, I certainly did not want to hide my faith. I wanted something sizable enough, so that it would be noticeable to me, as well as, anyone who was invited onto or looked closely at my property. Hopefully, it might encourage questions from open minded or curious individuals. In essence, a subtle but not hidden, conversation piece. A segue to a discussion on the Blessed Mother, the basis for Catholic devotion to Mary or the role that She has specifically played in my life. Most notably, as the guide on my return to Jesus Christ, My Lord & Savior. I'll limit the biographical info to that, but hopefully that illustrates exactly what my intentions were when I purchased the statue. Admittedly, I set some fairly high expectations for this item. As good as the reviews were, I wasn't totally sure if it would satisfy my needs. I need not have worried. Upon receiving the statue, I can honestly say it has exceeded all of my expectations & help me fulfill all my intentions. She is absolutely Beautiful! Sheer Magnificence! I could not have been more pleased! I may eventually buy another one for inside my house. All who purchase this statue will feel blessed, as it will serve as a faithful, humble homage piece to the Woman whom all shall call Blessed! My soul doth magnify the Lord : and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Savior. For he hath regarded : the lowliness of his handmaiden. For behold, from henceforth : all generations shall call me blessed. For he that is mighty hath magnified me : and holy is his Name. And his mercy is on them that fear him : throughout all generations. He hath shewed strength with his arm : he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. He hath put down the mighty from their seat : and hath exalted the humble and meek. He hath filled the hungry with good things : and the rich he hath sent empty away. He remembering his mercy hath received his servant Israel : as he promised to our forefathers, Abraham and his seed forever. (Luke 1:46-55) To Quote Archbishop Fulton Sheen, "Bye now & God Love You!"

Lovely, Enduring - Exactly what I needed!
First off - I want to explain that I bought this with some pretty high expectations. When I was a child there was church near my home that had a delightful garden grotto with a small statue of Mary. She was surrounded by azaleas, irises, lilies and such. It was cool in the shade and so peaceful - I used to go there by myself, sit on the grass and listen to the birds and leaves whisper. Pure tranquility. Fast forward 45 years to having a garden to putter and decide I need a statue of Mary and want it like the one I remember. Look high and low at statuary stores around me, catalogs and online. I compare stone, cement, resin and alabaster and price wasn't really the issue - it was the look. But then on Amazon, for a REALLY low price, I find this one - however - I wasn't crazy about it being plastic! Thinking what the heck - if it looks cheesy - I can send it back. I order it and a few days later - Mary is on my doorstep. Opened the box and was pleasantly surprised. The sandstone surface looked realistic - the texture was good, the color was accurate, the detail on the face was perfect - not to sharp, and nowhere did I see funky obvious seam lines that occur on most molded plastic items. Overall it looks realistic and appropriately weather worn. The only thing I thought was a little "too smooth" were the hands, that are attached separately to the main piece (they come well attached - no assembly required) and that's not very noticable. Overall look and quality is very good. Used a couple of pitchers of gravel & paving sand poured into the hole in the bottom. Placed on a leveled paver stone and she's in the garden standing upright with nary a tip or waiver. That was over 3 1/2 years ago and she looks as perfect today as then. She's been through heat - even a 104 degree summer, and cold in a 8 degree winter with ice and snow on her shoulders. She shows no signs of wear - no dings, cracks or chips in the shell or finish. She's had bunnies and birds - nothing has chewed on her that I can see. Small evergreen boughs have fallen on her but nothing made a scratch or dent. She stands as beautiful and tranquil as the day she arrived. I highly recommend this product. I didn't write a review sooner because I wanted to see how well she weathered. So far so good!

UNACCEPTABLE FLAWS ON THE NOSE, UPPER LIP AND CHIN
This is an updated review from the previous one I had written (see below). I received the replacement statue, and it is superior compared with the first one I received. This one has just a few minor flaws, one in particular - sharp edge - on the chin, and I thought about filing it down, but am afraid I might really mess it up. From a distance, it is not noticeable, so no big deal. I totally understand that being made from a mold, any statue/figurine will have certain imperfections, like obvious seams, and I can say that this statue is most acceptable, in spite of minor flaws. The detail on the face, hands and feet is quite good. The sandstone color is very attractive to me, and I know this will be a beautiful addition to my back yard. I've looked for a few years for such a statue, and was very excited when I found this one, especially since it was rated 5 stars based on 215 customer reviews. At least one reviewer mentioned wide seams. Well, the statue I got certainly has one glaringly wide seam right across the virgin's head and down the sides, one side ending in a very sharp point. It also has several other sharp edges/points, mostly on the seams. But the worst flaw on this particular statue is right on her face. The nose, upper lip and chin all have rough, sharp edges. All the others I might have tried to file down, but I am not about to mess with the face. So, I will be returning this one, and hope that I can exchange it for one that will, hopefully not have these flaws.

Just what I wanted.
This statue is perfect. It stands in front of my house. She is beautiful and big. The only draw back is there is no hole in the bottom to fill with sand or small rocks. When we have wind I go look to see if she is still there.

Beautiful statue. There is a ridge of plastic but not noticeable from a distance. Everyone thinks it’s stone.

This statue is larger in scale and it looks great in the backyard. It is plastic that is weather resistant and it has a nice finish that looks like stone. You can fill out the statue with gravel to weight it down so that the wind does not knock it down. The only issue is that it is hard to remove the bottom cap to fill the statue with gravel. So you have to be careful removing it as to not to break it. Other than that the statue is very nice.

VERY light construction, seal line excess plastic all the way round top to bottom; has been very roughly trimmed and has been left with a shiny surface. Not very convincing stone effect. More than anything, nearly £100 is an outrageous cost for this item. Would still be expensive at half of that price. Returned.
