Curly Wurly British Chocolate Bar 26g x 10 bar

I used to live in England several years ago and can't say enough about how wonderful the place is; beautiful countryside, the incredibly historical and ancient juxtaposed with thoroughly modern conveniences and trends. But the best thing about Britain is the people, and while I lived there I developed a deep appreciation for the incredibly strength, loyalty, humor, depth and kindness of the British people. Why say all of this in a review about a candy bar? Well, every day before getting on the bus to go to my high school, I would pass a small corner shop, stop in and buy a Curly Wurly (then called a Marathon) bar. The couple that ran the place were always very nice and one time even gave me one on account because I had forgotten my money. So I would get on the bus and have my delicious stretchy caramel bar covered with flaky milk chocolate and start the day off right. I have been back in the States for decades now and could never find these, so was thrilled when I came upon them on Amazon. I ordered them, expecting a very long wait as they are coming from the UK, and also expecting that coming so far through the postal service that the quality might have suffered. I was happily wrong on both counts; though I won't hold them to this timeline for the subsequent order which I just placed, they arrived in just over a week, packaged very well in a container with a Royal Mail postmark (yes, I'm keeping that as well) and very, very fresh. Biting into one of these brought back great memories and tasted sooooooo good! For less than a dollar a bar, delivered that far, with perfect quality, I can't express in too high terms what a great value this is. Even without the sentimentality that goes along with it, just the fantastic quality, fast delivery, and very low price make this an incredible value. If you want a fresh, great candy bar at a phenomenal price buy this. Five Stars!

Remember the Marathon bar? Well this is it, renamed and differently packaged but it’s the same thing! Marathon was discontinued in the US and I found these and have been buying them ever since. Takes me back to my childhood! Delicious!

Reminiscent of the Marathon bars I grew up with in the 80’s & 90’s. Although they are shorter, they have Cadbury chocolate on them making the very flavorful.

I bought these for birthday party bags however they would better suit decorating his cake. Out of the 20 Curly Whirly's we purchased not a single one was in tact. These were not just broken in half, they were in bits. The chocolate was not discoloured and the Curly Whirly tastes as expected, so it doesn't seem storage was a problem. The expiry dates were very good too. I just cannot present these as gifts the way they are, and will now have to purchase something else.

Just 97 calories when you want a little sweet treat with a nice cup of tea. Love my treats from the UK and the cupboard was bare. They arrived in just a few days and were well packaged and were also pretty good value given some of the crazy prices for UK candy.

Sure have shrunk in size. Sad as it’s a great English treat.

J’ai retrouvé mon bonbon de mon enfance , ma madeleine de Proust . Dommage que le prix soit un peu élèvé

Des mousquetaires comme avant... Un peu cher, mais c'est le prix de la nostalgie.
