This thing has a great antiqued look, and an impressive weight and sturdiness. It looks great and does actually work. Focusing is a bit clumsy, and there is a lot of scope shadow, but it is probably a fairly accurate replica of this style of looking glass.

Excellent for a table top ornament. The box adds to the look. It actually is a very cool looking semi-steampunk looking telescope and worked perfect as a prop for my RPG game. The player it was gifted to enjoyed it but stated it's ok as an actual telescope. It does work as a telescope, you can see things closer, but it's more of an esthetic than a real tool to use; which is precisely why I bought it.

The spy glass is great but the box is moldy and smells horrible. Every time he wants to take it out to look at it he has to wipe down the spyglass because of the smell even though he is cleaned out the Box already. The quality is great but were going to have to exchange this for a new one.

The glass is very classy, works great, looks like a real antique, AWESOME.

Was a festive gift for a fellow seadog friend who was very happy with this item! Takes some time working out how to use but dose work once you understand how it focuses! Good for any sea shanty induced voyage!
