I purchased these hoops for classroom use. I was nervous when they arrived because they were not as heavy duty as I had pictured, and they are seamed with staples. They were also much larger than what I had in mind for my pre-k students. The price was decent so I decided to go ahead and let the students use them. I don't let the students play tug-of-war on them, but from time to time they've really been pulling on them before I can get to them to remind them of this rule. They only have slight creases from that. We use them for courtyard recess, which means they are being used on concrete. They have held up very well. We've been using them for months and they look a little worn, but are not bent up and the seams have held. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Based upon the mixed reviews, I wasn't sure if I should buy these as favors for a luau birthday party. I went for it and found them to be perfect. They are full sized hoops and fairly strong. One child was stepping on one side, and pushing down forcefully on the other side, which of course bent the hoop. All of the others who used the hoops properly had a great time, and took home a nice quality party favor. These are big enough for adult use, yet small enough for as young as a 5 year old child to be successful! There were 2 of each color in the box: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple. I have gotten several texts since the party from moms saying their kids won't stop hula hooping!

Adults need a large size, heavier weight hoop. These are perfect for that. Add a little gaffer tape or use beeswax on the inside for grip and get to dancing!

These were used for a child's birthday party and satisfied my needs completely. They're great for the price. The joint has a little bit of a gap that could fall with prolonged extended use but for a couple of months worth of kid enjoyment they were perfect.

So I teach PE and I usually use hula hoops for obstacle races, specific activities, and for the students to use during recess. If taken care of they can last a school year and then some... But kids can break these so easily. I've had these before but didn't know Amazon sold these so the shipping was way faster than through the catelog. The hoops can bend and break if used improperly but hoping they would be !for durable since it is being used for the youth. The price was good but these need to be supervised if you want them to last longer.

These hoops combined with some colorful electrical tape makes for some fun retro fun for big and little kids. Lots of games can be played with these, too, for the kids who can't master the waist hooping. Adults need larger hoops for waist hooping, but these are fun to incorporate into stretch routines, arm hooping, tricks, dancing, etc. Hoop for the fun of it, move for the health of it.
