Supremely Rugged, Supremely Comfortable
These Altamas are my favorite boots of all time.I've been wearing them for about 10 years. They are made from Real Leather, and are extremely tough. If you treat them well, they will last for many years.(If you wear them every day, and keep them wet all the time, I can destroy them after about 2-3 years of heavy abuse.)They provide great ankle support. The Stock insoles are flat, so if you need any real arch support, you will need an insole.

But I am using a nice heavy insole
I read all the reviews so I ordered a full size smaller than I normally wear, and they were still too big. But I am using a nice heavy insole, and a little thicker sock and they feel great.

Good Jungle Boots
They feel like half a size larger than advertised. The insole will need to be replaced, as the insole is a great deal smaller than the boot and slides around. I will update as they wear and tear, as it's hard to tell the quality of a boot in the first week.

Best hiking boots for thru-hikers
Altma jungle boots are excellent for thru-hikers. They are lightweight, long wearing, repairable, fast to put on and take off, breathable, fast-draining, and still have a high top that provides ankle support, and keeps snow, rocks, and burrs out. They might not look as fancy as la sportiva trail runners, or vasque mountaineering boots, but they can't be beat, if you ask me.

Quality Not so Good - Shipping free only one way not for returns and sizing runs way too big!
The rubber soles on these shoes seems hard wearing but I did not get a chance to test them.I have bought many pairs of boots from many manufacturers and these shoes run larger than any so far. They are 1.5 sizes too big usually boots run a full size too big so if you purchase them too large then you have to pay the shipping back. The inside toe shape which can be made from fiberglass or plastic was defective on one of the shoes having a large fold that in other boots I have had cause a rubbing and blistering in the toe. So the toe mold that shapes the show was faulty.I give this one star because I have to ship them back and pay,They are way way too large unless my feet are shrinking every year. They had a major fault in the toe mold that would cause blisters. From the time I ordered to the time I actually get a fault free boot that is sized well will probably be a month and a half.I did not get a chance to test them they are probably a great hard wearing boot!
