Works with my DVI monitor. Saved the price of a new monitor.
I have a monitor that only has a DVI cable connection. For anyone in my situation, I can happily say that this adapter will connect a DVI monitor to an HDMI output. It works like a charm!

Works for an Apple Cinema Display HD
I bought this adapter to connect an Apple Cinema Display HD (circa mid-2000's) to a Windows PC with HDMI out. It works. I do notice some strangeness in the Apple display though, spots where pixels are turning on and off rapidly, it looks like a shimmer. I'm not sure if that is caused by this adapter, the output from the PC, or the age of the display (it may be 15 years old if not more). Anyway, good enough for me.

Great adapter to connect older and newer equipment
I have an older monitor that is still in excellent condition that supports DVI and SVGA connectors. When I got a new laptop with port replicator, the replicator only supported newer HDMI and DisplayPort video outputs. While one of my monitors supported HDMI, this other monitor only had DVI. Using this adapter, I was able to connect my DVI monitor to the DisplayPort connection on the port replicator and now happily have a dual-monitor setup again. It was cheap, easy to use, and did exactly what it purported to do. I did not test this with high-density video output such as you'd see for a large TV or entertainment system. For my setup, connecting my laptop to 2 monitors, it worked great and supported the maximum resolution of my old monitor perfectly with no issues.

acd30 surely does not work
should have read reviews more carefully. one m&ron said apple cinema disp works. it surely DOES NOT. second disp is recognized at correctly resolution but stays black.

Does not support dual link DVI aka DVI-D
The description says “HDMI to DVI-D adapter …” This adapter does not support dual like DVI (aka: DVI-D). Thus, it does not support the 30” Apple Cinema Display which requires DVI-D.
