works great to replace my EGO trimmer head. Easy to install and works well. Easy to bump out more string when needed. note: There is a small nut needed for installation that is included but when you open the blister pack, it is easy to lose the nut.

Fits and works great on my 24 volt kobalt trimmer.

Rapid load head makes it much easier to reload new trimmer line. Removed the old head and installed this one and it fit perfectly. Tested the string trimmer with this new head and it works as expected. Can't ask for more. This will add years to this old EGO string trimmer. Was considering buying a new trimmer just because reloading trimmer line was so painfully difficult and a time consuming process. No tools were included. You will need a small socket set. The old head was SAE 7/16 deep socket and the new head is metric 13mm standard socket with an extension. At least, that's what worked for me.

The part is a great replacement for our 2021 Model ST1500SF. I give it 4 stars because the nut holding the original part is very difficult to remove. Instructions say to "hold it with your hand to prevent it turning." This is virtually impossible to do. We have an impact wrench, but it wasn't powerful enough to remove the nut, plus there is no way to stop the spool/bottom part from spinning. Our neighbor came to the rescue with a plumber strap to hold the spool and a more powerful impact wrench to free the nut. Once we got the nut off, it was easy to replace the head and it fits perfectly. Just be aware that you need a powerful impact wrench and a device to stop the spool piece from spinning because without those, it is almost impossible to remove the nut holding the original part. The good news is that there is a new nut included with this replacement, so if you mangle the old one a bit getting it off, it's not a big deal.

Worked well giving my trimmer new life

As a big fan of EGO products (mower, blower, etc.), I needed this upgrade for my ST1502SF trimmer. My old head lasted 7 years, and this new one is a huge improvement. Installation was simple and, best of all, it no longer requires a deep socket wrench for removal. The Rapid Reload feature is the real reason to get this. It's so much easier to load than lining up the old, rubbed-off lines. The only small hiccup was that the included twisted-pair string was hard to wind and didn't tap out easily. I suspect it will work perfectly with standard single-strand line. Bottom Line: A much-needed and easy-to-install upgrade. Highly recommended for any compatible EGO trimmer owner.

Great price for this replacement head. Very easy to install and it comes with more string which was nice. It fits my EGO string trimmer perfectly with no adjustments. I had it replaced and ready to go in a matter of minutes. The quality is very good, but I usually tap it on grass or dirt, not concrete to let out more string. This makes it last longer.

Save your time and money. It’s a POS. I have an older ego machine, worked great. Needed to replace just the top piece, the piece with two male tabs that comes off and is snapped back in again. . They’ve changed the design, which of course worked perfectly, so I was forced to order the whole assembly. The new assembly stinks. The spring assembly is weak and not tight enough, the line unspools itself randomly. The old head assembly only unspooled line, when I unwound it. This machine is sensitive and if too much line is unspooled, the head would spin, so you I’m having trim this excessive line every 2 minutes. A lot of time and line lost. I’m going to return the head so EGO can take the loss for their s - - - ty product, not me. Maybe that”ll incentivize them to jump down the engineer’s throat. trimming the After hours trying to find the simple part and trying to contact EGO, who never answered and never returned my call.
