Excellent quality. Delicious.
Having lived for over 35 years in Spain, I think I know my way around their hams. Now returned to live full time in the UK, we wanted an Iberian ham to complete our more traditional Christmas fayre. Perhaps it was a mistake to buy it early in December. We liked it so much that we were throwing away the well-stripped bone some time before Christmas and so ..... well, we just had to order another one!

It isn't as good as a leg
It arrived on time, the meat was very good but it is a shoulder, the ratio of bone to meat means that there isn't a great amount of meat. Next time I would get a leg. easier to carve and better meat to bone ratio. That said the meat was excellent.

First off, to all those who say eeeewww, it's fat, yes, that's what you pay for, it's the best part. The problem is that this is yet another ham/cheese product that is "cured" in a dehydrator instead of in the traditional method, or rather, it's not cured properly. It's not just about losing the moisture, it's about developing flavour, and this jamon really, really does not taste of anything. I mean, you're paying £70-ish for a ham which normally would start from £250, what do you expect. I used it to make pork&beans, and when the ham is cooked in a pot, it does become a lot more flavourful. So yeah, it was not a complete waste. But if you want actual REAL Jamon Iberico, look elsewhere.

If you like Spanish ham you will know how good this is, good value for money and excellent service. If you like it without fat get it vacuum pack slice and ready to eat. Thank you Black Huff.
