This is my second shoe stretcher. The first one was my mistake for not reading closely in the description. I mistakenly bought one for lady's size 5-6 and I needed men's size 11. This one does the trick and seems to be heavy duty. I would caution when using this product to go slow and let your shoe rest between stretches. I could see where you could possibly over do it with this stretcher. It will stretch the width at the toe box area and the length of the shoe at the same time. An old trick I learned years ago when wanted to break in new leather shoes or boots was to get them wet and wear them while they are wet. This will speed up the "break in" period and slightly stretch them. Problem is if they dry out too fast, they shrink back. With this product, I feel you can dampen your leather shoes and insert these while they dry. It works for me but I assume no responsibility if it does not work for anyone else. Quality product and recommended for those looking to get slightly more room for your feet :) Hope this helps others!

Easy to use and they work great! High quality materials. I was able to stretch a size 11 to 12.5-13”! I used the shoe stretcher and the spray. I added some width to my dress shoes and it worked really well. I was afraid it would damage the material but it did not.

These aren't all bad. But they aren't sturdy enough to really stretch well-made, quality leather shoes. They are more like "aggressive shoe trees". If you need a tiny amount of stretch, these might work. If you have a specific area creating hotspots on your feet, they're ok. But if you need to stretch a half size or get much more room, you're better off buying a more expensive, better built unity here on Amazon (in the $75-$200 range) or, if you've only got a pair or two that you need to stretch, taking them to your local cobbler. If you have a passion for quality leather footwear on a budget, it's a good idea to form a relationship with your local cobbler anyway.

WORKS GREAT

It didn't work for me. Even though it's for men's shoes, expansion is limited on the top end sizes. Something to think about. Most footwear comes from east Asia now, they use any old kind of animal hides. Some of which simply do not stretch like cowhide leather. Some of them spring right back to the memory of their as manufactured shape, they do not reshape with this tool. The pair I was trying to widen a bit were thus; I even soaked them in water overnight before stretching. It didn't help. Hardware is plastic.

Well made and easy to use. Pediatrist advised me to get wider shoes or have a foot operation. Stretched all my shoes and it worked just fine.

Received broken in two. We'll made except the wood part is pine and prone to splitting, as many others have said in reviews. The wood grain runs lengthwise. Screw forces apart and does not take much to split. I did not even get one use of product! Terrible design and no quality control!

I just have one comment when you try to widen the split it leaves wood residue in the shoe

One fell apart during the first use. The other has too much coating so the attachments will not fit in. I bought a more expensive version hoping they would be something I could have for years, I doubt these will last 6 months. I would be happy to rereview the product if I had a non-faulty set.

These stretchers are just what I was looking for. The adjustable heel stretcher section is great because it keeps the foot stretching section snug in the footbed when it is tightened. I have another stretcher without this portion and it tends to slide out of the shoe a bit when tightened. These are great little stretchers for the price. I recommend.
