Helps w/premature hair shedding
I was using this shampoo to help with some hair loss. I never noticed a big difference until I stopped using it. I experienced drastic hair shedding after I stopped using it. Im sure other factors have to do with it(weight loss) but the shedding stopped after a few uses. I will continue to purchase this product.

Early Results
The product comes from Germany so it took about 3 weeks to arrive in the states. I've only been using the product for 2 weeks now so I think it is too soon to give my final review; however, I can comment on my results so far. The shampoo gives your scalp a strong tingle and it smells like menthol so it feels like it is doing something. I leave it on for 2 or more minutes then rinse it off. My hair loss has definitely reduced, but I'm not sure that it is entirely from the shampoo. At the same time I started using the shampoo I also started using a laser comb. I am happy with the results so far and will continue using both products.

Well worth the money!
To get off on the right foot, I am not a doctor or nurse, so I'm not qualified to evaluate the medical claims of this product. I am, however, balding and as I get older, I find that I have less and less hair, both at the hairline and at the crown. For the last 10 or 15 years, I've been forced to keep my har at buzz cut length, perhaps a #4 or a #5 as attempting to grow my hair any longer than that would leave me looking worse than if I buzzed down to a #1 or a #2. The hair shafts would thin out towards the end and my once curly hair would be limp and lifeless. I've tried many products and herbal cures with varying results and most seemed to have an unwanted side effect. I'm in the small group for which R------ works, and I had been trying to use the foam version, but not only was it one more thing to remember but it left my scalp prone to isolated blemishes and infected hairs. It was also likely causing some of the vellus (baby) hairs that I'd never had on my face but now have above the beard line. Overall, even though R------ showed some positive effects, it was slowly losing ground. I am not ready to be bald just yet, so I started looking around for other options. I found Alpecin here on Amazon while researching caffeine-based products. There is a theory that states that male pattern baldness can be caused in some people by en excess of DHT, a naturally occuring hormone related to testosterone. Those that subscribe to this theory feel that a product that counters DHT will produce the desired effects of reduced hair loss while making the remaining hair thicker and fuller. Again, I'm not a doctor or nurse, so I can't evaluate that theory or claim, but I was interested in experimenting in that area myself, so I purchased a bottle of Alpecin C-1. It was one of the best decisions that I've made in the area of saving my hair. After less than a week with this product, I noticed fewer hairs on the towel after a shower. After 3 weeks to a month, I noticed more vellus (baby) hairs at and inside my hairline. I also noticed that my styling products tended to work more as desired, leaving my hair looking better than it had in a while. This effect continued to strengthen over the next month, so I decided to grow my hair out to see what would happen. By the time I decided that I needed a haircut because I was no longer looking neat, my hair on top was over 2 1/2 inches long which was longer than I had been able to grow my hair successfully in over 15 years. The hair on the sides of my head was about as thick as it had been when I was in high school and if I used an argan nut oil conditioner, I even had curls. As far as I can tell, and remember, I'm not a doctor, this stuff works as advertised. Yes, it's pricey, but I hadn't gotten any positive comments on my hair in over 20 years, and I did get a few after 2-3 months using this product, so to me, the price is worth it based on that alone. I would think that the sooner into hair loss that you start using this product, the better your results would be as my improvements did plateau out after about a month and a half to two months. You should know that this product has a masculine, sporty scent, so it might not be for women. (I really like the scent!) It also contains nothing to soften your hair, so over time, your hair will become very grippy as if you had used regular soap on it. You should also be aware that some of the ingredients in this product may cause scalp irritation and that deliberately keeping the product on longer than advised may result in scalp irritation, so this product is not for everyone, especially if you've had scalp irritation problems with regular shampoos. (They make a "sensitive" version for folks who find this too strong, so don't worry!)

Wishful Thinking?
Only 3 weeks and would like to think its working as I look in the mirror. I will say there is hardly any hair in my comb, so that's a big plus. As far as hair growing, I need more time to be sure...But am happy in my mind that it is getting fuller in the front...

Non irritating, pleasant smelling caffeine shampoo
I’ve just used this for the first time and can only report that it did not cause any irritation nor does it have an unpleasant odor. It actually smells quite refreshing. I heard that caffeine shampoo once a week can cut down on hormonal hair loss, so that’s what I’m trying. I guess I won’t see real results for a few months but no complaints starting out

Helping my pixie regret
I bought this after my pixie regret. It seems to be working well! After a month and a half my hair has already grown about an inch. I’ve had to cut the back twice already while the sides catch up. The only thing I don’t like about it is the smell. It’s a more manly shampoo scent. It’s a bit drying too, I just make sure to leave my conditioner on for a good amount of time afterward.
