First Blush...Perfect for Minimalistic Travel
Just pleased as punch with this set, and the price I paid. Allegiant has pretty strict sizing and this offered me a personal under seat item and carry-on that made the most of the odd sizing allowed. I was worried from reviews it would feel like my nephew's overnight suitcases when they go to visit grandma, but no, despite being light, this is a perfectly adult-sized set for someone that is looking to travel light. What I'm happy about, is it is a better set in person. Will it hold up? We shall see, but after spending bukoos of cash on an "expensive" carry-on for my significant other that came back shredded after his first flight (non-checked) I swore I was never going to do that again. I was mortified. This looks to be durable however, and there were small touches that just thrilled me. For example, the pockets on the tote and the suitcase zip all the way down the sides so they open widely, but their is a generous liner sleeve sewn in to keep items from falling out. They aren't shallow either and have room up and down and on the sides about an inch so you have plenty of room. There's a little tag pocket on the back and the color I chose–the grey/black–looks pretty stylish, and the little brand tags do as well. I really appreciate the shoe style pockets on lid and the additional mesh. A woman with flats/flip flops could easily fit two pair, but a man would probably need to put a shoe in each pocket. The interior is light colored and neutral. The extra bag flap looks well sewn in and I think with some velcro strapping, it and tote strap can be easily tied up neatly (that was my only complaint - those things flap about a bit when not in use.) That extra bag strap will make a nice way to tie on a travel pillow or coat/scarf however. I paired this with these packing cubes FINNKARE 6 Set Packing Cubes with Shoe Bag Travel Luggage Organizers Lightweight Travel Cube Set Compression Pouches System for Carry-on Luggage Rose Red but be aware you won't be able to use all the pieces - I used the large one as an extra organizer in my closet. My 13-in Macbook Air, in a neoprene style zippered sleeve fits in the tote and if I was inclined to bring my iPad 2 it would fit in the larger outside pocket of the suitcase easily, and my 3-1-1 bag in the top one. The tote pocket is also designed the same as the suitcase, so it also is roomy and should be perfect for slipping in a clutch wallet, and those things I want easy access to - glasses case, phone, etc. I haven't packed it full yet. The tote bag is slightly wider from end to end than the suitcase - maybe by an inch but doesn't look awkward. I don't know if it would tip - the set doesn't sit leaning back on it's footrest, so there is that potential. I didn't see a lot of complaints about that in the reviews so have my fingers crossed with appropriate packing it will be fine. The pull out handle has two stops. We'll see how the handle holds up to repeated use - I do suspect with more expensive sets you'll feel a smoother motion. I actually bought this set because again, my now-disposed-of-more-mid-range set failed too soon in that department. This one at least offers a zippered lining to access that if I need to doctor it. I would say if you're on the fence, don't hesitate to try the set. Although all things are relative, it doesn't present, or feel tangibly as any cheaper than the ones at the 2x-3x more expensive price point, and has been well thought out in terms of function. And, I figure unlike the last purchases, when it does fail, I won't feel like such a schmuck for wasting money!

Great value travel set
This is a beautiful set of sturdy luggage - and the price point is just right considering that the way airlines treat your baggage, suitcases are basically disposable. The three sizes are very good for travel, with the smaller one being carry on size. The little shoulder bag is OK, as with most suitcase sets, the last piece is usually a throw away - this shoulder bag is actually quite nice and I would use for some overnight trips, maybe for my daughter when she starts having sleep overs or something. I did not travel with it as I take my purse and laptop case as my carry-ons. This last trip I took I only used the larger size because I needed as much space as I could afford - so I took 2 large suitcases. The large from this set was amazing - this is what fit in it (and then some): A queen size down comforter, queen size duvet cover and pillow cases (in retail packaging), queen size sheet set, a bottle of whiskey, and a bottle of wine, 4 pairs of shoes, a Barbie riding a bicycle gift set (in packaging as this was a present I was taking), 3 pairs of shoes, 4 men's dress shirts, 2 pairs of men's jeans, a two weeks supply of women's running clothes....I can't remember anymore, I just kept filling and filling and the bag kept on accepting it, I didn't even have to open the fat man expansion zipper. I was terrified when I got to the airport...I was allowed 50 lbs, and this bag with all of its contents, weighed in at 46 lbs!!! I could have fit another wine bottle ;) The suitcase was also extremely easy to handle and maneuver. I am 5'3" and I am pretty fit, but I am not an Olympian, and I navigated this suitcase, plus another (that weighed in at 56 lbs), a big purse, and a ubber loaded backpack, on a bus, then overseas flight with connection in Miami and I was able to handle everything perfectly with no help - no credit to me, but to this great bag. One trip down, and the bag fared fairly well to the airplane abuse - it was in one piece, but they put something gross on it - so the pretty orange now had greasy streaks on it :(

Not 21 inch height
I bought the 2-piece set in burgundy mainly because it claims to be 21" height x 14" width x 8" diameter. The dimensions were accurate for width and diameter but height measures 22 inches tall including wheels and even pressing down the top strap. These measurements work for domestic airlines (e.g. Delta, Alaska Airlines), but the height does not work for Canadian airlines (e.g. WestJet). I still took a chance and luckily was able to take this carry-on onto four WestJet flights without issue. This Travel Select carry-on slid into the overhead bin easily. We were asked to place the carry-on into the sizer just once either at FLL or YYZ Airport and passed the test. It comes with a separate lock but I would not rely on it; it is a really cheap quality lock that looks like you can open it without using a key. Material feels durable. As we were on the move for seven days, the retractable handle was still working after constant retracting and extracting the handle which was good, but I could feel it is starting to wobble a bit. The travel tote is a nice size but I did not use it because I prefer backpacks. The travel tote shoulder strap is not good quality; as in, don't carry heavy stuff or the straps will surely break off the bag and that would not be repairable. Overall, for the price I paid (40 bucks), it is an inexpensive price even if it lasts for one trip.

I bought this set for a European tour and I was thrilled with them. This is a great set of luggage, and the price I got it for made it even better! I'm not super strong but I was more than able to haul my bags on and off trains. The wheels are inlaid so they're more resilient to bumps. I don't like the 4-wheel bags because they tend to take up too much storage room, so the 2-wheel design was perfect. There is so much space in these as well - most of the pockets expand, and the zippers are strong enough to resist a little bit of tension. The handles and carrying straps do loosen somewhat after use, but so far they've stood the test of time. I wasn't expecting to use the smaller laptop bag, but it is super convenient! So much storage, and I love that it slides comfortable onto the other pieces of luggage. Overall - price = great, quality = great. Highly recommended!

I bought the one size, which has the three cases and tote bag. The large case is lighter than expected at 3.35kg, great as it can have more weight in clothes. The medium case weigh 2.78kg and small case 2.53kg. The small case is good for carry-on a Ryan flight but I normally use IT luggage as it weighs less for carry-on. Have not used yet but I expect to survive a few Ryanair baggage handlers treatment. Other reviewers complain of the condition after a flight, I have no suitcase that survived like new and I expect wear and tear. For the money these seem great. If these cases do as good as the cheap case my daughter destroyed on her last flight, I be happy. Kids think that it can take all, she rocked up to airport to self check-in, had her foot under while being weighed and got her 20kg ticket to put on case, unfortunately when she had to drop the case on the conveyor it showed 33kg. The baggage attendant then informed her she would have to pay £180 charge, she nearly wet herself and said she will go back home, he took pity on her and charged £60 for a second case. Stated that she was lucky that she was not over 33kg as the baggage handlers would not accept. I was surprised the case held together with the handlers, but she destroyed the wheels herself getting into and out of airport. I shall add to this review when the cases have done a few flights. First flight, Ryanair Dublin to Newcastle 19kg, case stands fine, with just one little bit of a mark on the side. Survived baggage handlers well, I cut off the strap on top as it just there to get caught during handling. Looking at damage, can easily be glued back. I got no issues with these cases
