The perfect light!
Okay - I almost never write reviews so when I do, it's because I really dislike or I really like something. This is the latter. When I went looking for a magnifier light, I had some concerns and nobody on Amazon seemed to answer my questions. Is the lens big enough? Will it be "head heavy" and droop or fall down? Is it sturdy? How many diopters do I need? Will it be tall enough to get out of my way when I don't need it, and will it come down far enough when I do need it for up-close work? Will it stay wherever I position it? Is the light bright enough, and evenly lit? Is it the right "kind" of light? OK - I am an engineer. But some of you are like me and probably asking one or more of these questions. For this light - I loved it the minute I started using it. The LED illumination is really perfect - very even and bright! It has 3 different "temperatures" - from warm (slightly yellow) to bright white and then an almost blue-white. I will use all of them - depending on what I am doing. They cycle through just by hitting the power button, which is right by the lens. The lamp on my bench (see pics) stands 30" above the bench when I don't need it. It can come down literally to sit on the bench when I need super close up work. I have a 6' bench, and the light can stretch more than halfway down the bench. Perfect! The lens is acrylic. Overtime it may scratch. I think that's more a matter of how I take care of the lamp. But it comes with a cleaning cloth that more than covers the lens, so I plan to keep it clean and dust free with that. The benefit of acrylic is lighter weight - which helps this light stay where you put it without the weight of glass. The lens can be rotated a little bit to put the small magnifier portion of the lens where you want it. The lens can easily be popped out and rotated 120 degrees at a time, which means the magnifier can be put at 3 different places (think 12 o'clock, 4 o'clock, and 8 o'clock). That magnifier is a really cool feature - only about 1" diameter but it's like a turbocharge for your old eyes if you really need to see something in great detail. The lens itself feels really big. Certainly more than big enough to magnify any projects I have ever needed it for. Is it magnifying enough? It seems the magnification depends on how close the lens is to the object. So I find that just by moving the lamp closer to, or farther away, from something I can change the magnification. And it's certainly enough. It is really sturdy. I have worked on many lamps with those super long springs that hang in air. None of that here. It moves easy, stays in position, and has no wobble or play in the joints. The joints themselves can be tightened as, I expect, they may loosen a little over time. The base this come with is also a nice feature - as it is designed to clamp to a table and can handle very thick tables. The lamp rotates left/right very well in this mount and does not have that wobbly feeling you get with cheap mounts. I bought another one of these lights with the base (heavy metal ring with 5 caster wheels) to give to an elder that will benefit from the light. The base is also a solid deal - and the light can be extended wayyyy out from the base without it tipping over. All in all - a great purchase and worth the money. I think NeatFi is a brand worth watching, folks.

Nice
I just set it up on my desk a few minutes ago. This thing is nice. Well constructed, sturdy, and I expect 5 years. It floats a big hunk of glass like nothing and stays put. The simple clamp has ample strength. When you take it out of the box make sure to turn the lens so it won't pop out onto your tile floor when you need it to the least. Mine wasn't secure and I almost had a disaster. I can't say much about the optics yet till I use it for a couple weeks but will edit if I find anything. Edit: A year later. Basic functionality is still 100%. The arm still works like new, nothing came loose yet. I use this bad boy quite a bit. After about a month the LED's were not as powerful but still good enough. My biggest complaint is that the zoom diopter was glued on terribly, it's unusable. I may try to re-attach it if I can find out how because it would be nice to have. For the $ this is a good unit, just get it.

better than I expected
Really powerful magnifier and larger than expected, although the description is accurate I just didn't expect it to be this large. The light is really nice with different color temp and brightness adjustments. I haven't had it but a couple of weeks, so I can't speak to the longevity of the mount but it seems solid, stays in place when moved to a work position and adjusts easily enough. The only reason for 4 stars is the magnifier angle adjustment is a single knob where maybe a 2 knob setup may be a bit easier to fine-tune. But I would absolutely recommend this magnifier for purchase.

Fantastic!
I don't write many reviews, but this one deserved it. The clamp and mechanical arm seem to be well made. Just move it to where you want it and it stays put. The glass, yes it's real glass, is huge! The light is nice and bright. I'm an electronics hobbyist and this thing is perfect for that sort of thing. With my bad eyes, I really needed this. My wife was even able to take off her glasses while using this magnifier. The cord that plugs into the wall for the light seems to be good quality as well. One button on the head piece to turn on/off and select the different color ranges is very handy. Very happy so far. Will post an update if I anything changes.

Wish it could dim more than it does.
I use this in bed for embroidery work. The instructions never tell you how to dim it, so if anybody is wondering, you have to hold down the power button and it’ll slowly dim and then get brighter and back to dim again. The max is quite bright, but it’s still pretty bright when it’s at minimum brightness. As many others have said, the little extra magnification lens is nearly useless. You have to get super close to see and bring the material close to the lens. So close that it doesn’t get illuminated by the light. But it’s a solid light and works well when using the regular lens. Wish the head would rotate further to make it easier to use while lying down, but it keeps the wire that runs the length of the arm from getting twisted up. I’d buy it again, though. Must have for small, delicate cross stitching or other embroidery work.

Prévoir une table assez solide pour recevoir la lampe car elle est pesante.

I specifically bought this lamp for the width of the magnifying glass, it’s prefect. The clamp is easy to install, the whole lamp is sturdy. The only reason why I didn’t give it a perfect score is the maneuverability, as some reviews stated, it’s tricky to set. You have to keep the lamp in line with the arm otherwise it just doesn’t stay put, it tilts or just drops. Not so fun when someone’s face is underneath (I do lash extensions). I am still keeping it because I love all the rest of it. I’ll just learn to adjust it as it needs to.

If I had had this lamp prior to starting my painting, it would have looked like a DaVinci! But now I can go over and correct the mistakes so easily. Super lamp.
