This grinder attachment worked great!
I’ve been using my grandma’s hand grinder to make cranberry relish every year but it’s always hard to get it mounted to the table or countertop and it drips cranberry juice everywhere. This grinder attachment for my Kitchenade mixer worked like a charm. It mounted easily to the attachment port and ground up our cranberries and oranges with ease. There was no drippy mess and all the parts cleaned easily with warm soapy water. The attachment feels sturdy and would probably do the same awesome job with meat or anything else you needed to grind. It comes with a variety of blades for all uses and is easy to put together. We didn’t use the sausage stuffing attachment so I cannot speak to that part of the grinder. I recommend this grinder attachment.

Exactly what I wanted
I have a 3/4 HP Legg Big Byte Grinder, and so I am very comfortable making sausages in large quantities. That being said pulling out all of my project gear for making a few quick pounds of meat is a total pain in the behind (Yes I know first world problems, but I do this as a hobby so I like having the right tools). This grinder is perfect for my intended task. I have a 600 Pro Series KitchenAid mixer I'm using to drive this. Assembly is easy and straightforward if you have used grinders before. If you haven't I suggest watching a video or two. The metal of the actual grinding tube is a little thin, but if you consider the actual KitchenAid product was plastic I will take thin all day. There is a key advantage to a metal grinder, are you can freeze it before grinding, where plastic wouldn't take and hold the cold. Again the light material mass of the metal grinder won't hold cold as long as heavier metal products on dedicated grinders, it's lightyears ahead of a plastic solution. As for cleaning, I found it to be no better or worse than any grinder, and the inclusion of a fitted brush is ahead of the other grinder that I ordered a kit for cleaning after the fact at an additional expense. The need to hand wash is fine, I only run my bigger stuff through the dishwasher for sanitation considerations, I fully clean the parts by hand first, and end with a spray sanitizer anyways. The included blades are good enough for most tasks, I don't feel the need to try to hunt down extra blades. I would suggest using a non-foot-controlled grinder to stuff casings as a challenging task, again for a few links it would be ok, but I wouldn't suggest attempting to do tons of cased meat with this tool. I actually use a purpose-built stuffer that is hand-driven for this task should I be making cased sausage. Lastly, my only quality concern is around the meat stuffing tool for pushing it down the throat of the grinder, the plastic is very light weight. If you get overly forceful in pressing the meat down it could collapse or break and it's custom fit to this grinder. In conclusion, this is a great ad hoc grinder for a few pounds of meat. Given the option, I wouldn't plan to grind more than a few pounds of meat with this, it is possible but I would not recommend it. Easy to deploy, and use, easy to clean up.

Works well
I bought this for my Cuisinart Stand Mixer, a near clone of the KitchenAid. Unfortunately the lug which resists the torque force on the device doesn't quite fit the notch in the Cuisinart machine; consequently, the grinder won't seat far enough in for the locking screw to engage the dimple on the grinder. In other words, it won't lock on properly. The solution, for anyone with a Cuisinart, is simple. Just grind the torque lug down a tiny bit so that the grinder will seat properly. In all fairness, the unit doesn't mention that it will fit a Cuisinart. I assume it will fit a KitchenAid, as advertised. My complaint is that the major components, which appear to be made out of pot metal, aren't dishwasher safe. Leaving bits of meat inside the grinder is not safe from a health standpoint and trying to clean the parts by hand is tedious. I'd much prefer the sterilizing ability of my dishwasher. However, the unit works quite well and offers good performance for the price.

Why Was I still Using a Hand Crank Grinder???
I’ve had a KitchenAid mixer for years and never thought about getting the meat grinding attachment. Since I only used my previous hand crank, tedious, and persnickety grinder a couple of times a year, it didn’t click that I should upgrade. My old one broke last week just as I was starting to grind sausage, so quickly went in search of a replacement. I’m so thankful this one popped up, and I was able to get it the next day. It was very simple to assemble, and ground 5 lbs of sausage in a few minutes, without a major arm workout from me. Since the only place I have to use my KitchenAid is on my kitchen counter, and this attachment adds about 8” to the height, plus I’m 5’3”, I had to stand on a stool to use it properly. But since it cut my working time and effort down significantly, I wasn’t bothered by that. The auger and die plates are sturdy steel, the top tray is very light and feels like aluminum, and the food pusher is plastic. Cleaning took time, but my old one did too, so I don’t think that’s specific to this one. The instructions say it’s not dishwasher safe, but this is the type of kitchen gadget I always wash by hand anyway, so no problem. The cleaning brush that comes with this is useless. When I used pressure to clean inside the lower, grooved part of the main body, it bent and didn’t remove the meat remnants. When I pulled out my heavier duty cleaning brush, everything came off quickly. I’m really happy I moved into the era of technology and got this meat grinding attachment for my KitchenAid mixer. Once all the pieces were clean and dry, I put them back into the box and onto the shelf with my other attachments. Since the box is only about 9” wide, 6” tall and 5” deep, it takes up much less space than a stand alone grinder. If you’re ready to move away from the antiquated hand crank style grinder, and you own a KitchenAid, I highly recommend this affordable meat grinding attachment (unless you enjoy the arm workout, lol).

Worked great
Easy to use and clean. Worked well for grinding brisket trim.

the wall thickness is not enough. Too thin, too light, not reliable. My opinion it should be made of stainless steel. Cheapest materials . Waste time and money to spend on low quality product made in China

I didn't want to pay the full KA price for a mincer + sausage attachment. Looked at several compatible models and read lots of reviews before deciding on this model. I can't fault it. I minced 2.5kg of pork in less than 10 mins with no problems. I then trued the sausage attachment and despite reading a review that said it didn't really work, again i couldn't fault it, the speed was easily controlled and the meat came through evenly. I can highly recommend this item and I will now even look at other KA attachments from this brand.
