These are great shorts. I am always looking for good quick dry (not cotton) clothes for a few reasons. River hiking, stand up paddle boarding or just spraying myself with the hose to cool off during yard work. I need clothes that are OK to get wet and dry quick. These shorts are great for that. The pockets have mesh so even if you end up swimming with them on they'll work for that. They are made with a tough durable fabric so feel free to wipe off your fishing knife on your shorts they will be OK. I also like that these don't have gigantic dorky looking cargo pockets. There is one cargo style pocket good for a small wallet or other gear but it doesn't add bulk, and one long skinny pocket that is good for your fishing knife but again no bulk added. Notes on colors: The "grill" dark grey color is awesome, goes with almost anything. When I ordered the "carbon" blue color I was a bit worried because they looked sort of flashy bright blue online. I'm glad I got them, in person they are only a bit lighter than a classic navy blue, not bright or flashy at all. Also I really like the cut/fit of these. Nice and snug at the waist and just the right amount of room everywhere else without being baggy.

I have been a khaki shorts wearing man for many many years, and never thought I would change. Since I first bought this pair of shorts I have purchased 5 more pairs of similar material Columbia shorts. These things fit JUST as expected, and breath like no other shorts you can dream of. I work outside a lot, and during the hot humid summer months that means a lot of sweat, and some times water. These shorts never once felt uncomfortable while wet and didn't tighten up the way khaki can often do. The also dried very fast, and the shorts have the mesh pockets similar to swimsuits so they dont hold water or small sand. These shorts would do anyone who enjoys hiking, outdoor work, fishing, swimming, or just everyday wear very good. These shorts are a great lightweight pair of shorts, but they’re not quite perfect. I ordered the [32] size (as opposed to the [32”] or [32 x 10]). The inseam on these is about 9-1/4” and the waist is a perfect 32 (even after washing). They are a ripstop material made of 62% cotton and 38% nylon. The belt loops are 3/4” wide, except for the rear center belt loop which is 1-1/2” wide. The front has two belt loops about ½” apart on each side, and two single belt loops on each rear hip. These shorts have six pockets total. The two front pockets have a straight vertical access and sit a bit closer to the center than traditional pockets which sit on the side seam. The two rear pockets a have a hook-and-loop flap closure, with the right rear pocket also having a zipper to secure the contents. A narrow pocket sits on the right rear thigh with a 2-1/4” opening and is about 5-1/2” deep. I’m not really sure what this was intended for and can’t think of anything I could put in there. On the front right is a pouch that has an opening of 3-3/4” and is about 5-1/4” deep. Just a tad small for today’s cell phones, but it would hold a Samsung S3 or Apple iPod Touch4 perfectly. This pouch has a hook-and-loop closure and it also has three loops on the outside. The shorts fit well and are very comfortable; I like the lightweight material which has that nice ripstop look to it. The zipper on the fly is a nylon-like material and has fine teeth. I’m a bit concerned about how these finer teeth will hold up. The shorts close at the top with a single button just above the zipper. One negative thing I’ve found on these is the front pocket design. The pocket openings are straight up and down which makes it awkward to access the front pockets. It’s not difficult getting to the contents, just a bit different than all other pants I’ve owned. Pros: - lightweight, fast drying material - secure rear pockets - wide belt loops Cons: - front pocket design - front pouch just a tad too short for current cell phones

My husband purchased two pair of these shorts that were on sale/clearance. When the shorts arrived, my husband tried the shorts on and the fit was perfect. The fabric is very durable and well made to fit nicely. The length was as shown, since my husband is 6'2 the hem of the shorts was two inches above his knee, just the way he likes his shorts. I wish the shorts would ave came in another color so he could have a choice of color but this color of beige was all that was left in his size. The shorts are well worth the money he paid because they fit so nicely. I would recommend this brand of shorts to anyone looking for quality.

okay pair of shorts. material is lightweight but has no stretch, or at least very, very little. one big reason I will be returning is there is a 3" wide "gusset" in the crotch. It runs from the bottom of one inseam up, over, and down the other which make them pretty baggy on my legs. I am 5'10" and athletic 200lbs and wanted these for work. just too baggy for my liking. For what its worth I normally wear a 34" waist on everything and that's what I ordered these shorts in and that part fit fine. I guess if you have very large quads you'll like 'em

I love these shorts. I'm 6'2" and was in between getting 8" inseam or 10". I'm glad I went with the 10". The come right down to my kneecaps. Perfect fit. Also, I usually wear a 35" waist but a 36" was a perfect fit for me in these shorts. If I didn't want to - I wouldn't even have to wear a belt. These dry fast and are light weight. I will definitely buy more pairs. I highly recommend.
