Great buy for the money!
This unit is well made and does the job. I bought it to replace one that I burned out by not paying adequate attention to oiling. I also bought a live center (much better but much more expensive) so this is now just a backup.

Perfect
Fits my lathe. Use as a drive instead of a spur.

Solid and well made Dead Center
Well made and solid. Fits perfectly into my drill press and makes threading much easier.

Nicely Made
Nice replacement for the center I messed up, MT2 locks into tailstock like it's supposed to.

Nice cheap center
It's a cheap dead center. It serves the intended purpose

Good product.
It comes in a nice storage conatiner to help protect the MT2# and point from damage and corrosion. Fit snub in the headstock and works as expected. Price was reasonable.

Brass filler to fix manufacturing defects... And out of concentricity.
It's .0076 out of concentricity, which is useless. AND there is a nice brass braze filler right on the taper head, which will obviously not hold up to any working material turned with it.Hard pass, stay far away!!!This is clearly a purchase of bad stock, reworked and sold as if it's actually usable. You might get lucky, but I sure as hell didn't.I was at first terrified that my spindle taper was out, and oh that took a while to check...Spend the extra 30-40 bucks and get one that isn't problematic.

Great quality MT2 center drive
I belong to a Woodturners Guild and I wrote a short article this month on the use of this MT2 center as a drive center when turning small spindle projects. Often it is much more accurate and safer to use such a center than using a spur center. I am super happy with the quality of this center and the fact that it has a substantial carbide tip on it.

a bit short but works well.
The whole thing sits in the quill right up to the hilt so it was a bit of a concern the first time I installed it but it's got a proper taper and a firm, snug fit so I'm good. Also, it's got a very sharp tip so be careful. I accidentally backed my hand into it and was immediately informed about that. No worries, I'm fine, just was being inattentive, I guess.
