Works Well So Far
This watch has many functions. Compus, altimeter, barometer, 2nd time and more. Large enough face. Light could stay lit a few seconds longer. With all the functions this watch has, why didn't they have an auto wrist light on function when brought up to face?

not bad for $
These all use the same chipset in this price range $40-90. They generally work ok. You can hear this alarm unlike another brand i had to return. I like the ABC and a Pedometer which you cannot get on most of the ProTek Casios unless you opt for a smart watch version which is not that optimum for hiking etc. as it's more stuff to deal with. The compass is acurrate enough (not as good as the Casio) but works just fine after calibrating, and mine holds calibration. I've used it in shower with no leaking or fogging as has been reported. I think the guy who had trouble with water was probably pressing the watch buttons while under water, and most likely was subjecting it too temperature extremes as well. If mine finally fogs or leaks I will report it. The screen is plenty bright and the light works great. The band and size are very comforable and light, especially for being one of the larger sizes of watches. For the money this is a good general kick around watch that doesn't suffer from needing to connect to a phone for all the features. I also own a decent Protrek, but only use that for special hikes and trips, otherwise this watch is the goto that works well and keeps track of my steps/calories/distance and look pretty cool. If I loose it or something, I'm only out $36. So, basicly, I love it!

No Watch received
I received what I guess is supposed to be the container for the watch. I picked it up only to realize how light the watch was inside the container only to open it up and find only the foam padding for the container was in it. To sum up my experience. Got a watch container with no watch in it. Very upsetting. Hopefully it will get resolved.

Not at all water resistant
At first I liked the color and design. Looked cool. I liked keeping track of my steps, but I hadn't checked out other features yet. About 2 weeks ago, we had some very hot and humid weather. I sweat terribly around this time. One particularly hot afternoon, I noticed my watch face was all foggy inside. I took it off and wiped dry with a towel and after a few hours, the fog cleared a little. As time went on, foggy lense every day and never cleared up. Today the watch quit on me, no time, back light, or lunch alarm. I took bands off to open the back cover and check the battery. There was rust and corrosion on the interior parts of the watch. The metal tabs, little contact spring, and small part of the back plate rusted. Took the battery out and replaced it. The face came back on, blinking 1200. None of the buttons worked to reset the watch. This particular watch is a piece of junk, I was a bit mad and threw it away. I'll go back to my Casio G-Shock watches. I've had 3 of them over the last 20 years. They last a long time.

Accurate
After some fine tunning the compass works wonders!

Very useful and accurate device
I was looking for a "gadget watch" to wear outdoors and leave the nice one at home. Since I'm certified for Search and Rescue Training and Qualifications I was curious about the function of this watch and I am surprised. The watch function has 2 time capability, 12/24 hour display, alarms, chrono, etc. You expect that.It also has a fitness function of steps taken, distance traveled or calories burned. Pretty nice. However the outdoor functions are almost stellar. I have the barometer in "history mode" because rising and falling pressures mean something when you are outdoors for an extended period; and _maybe_ you will have cell phone coverage. The altimeter is dependent on air pressures but once calculated accurate enough for validating your elevation on a Topo Map.The compass is a "GPS compass" - which means it's based on True or Grid North; AND it works best when you are moving -- if you stand still, the satellites try to triangulate your position. Here I have it indoors and you can see both the watch and magnetic compass and their indicated direction. How about that. It is also _not_ affected by magnetic forces like a standard compass around technology. The functions were very easy to configure: I used the default setting and used a good weather station to adjust temperature and pressure; and I went outside and set the compass by slowly walking in a known direction and making fine adjustments. Two items to consider: 1) It's not a bright watch but I have not had any problems with the display; and 2) the barometer/temperature setting is affected by your body heat, so take the watch off to calibrate and use. I think I had the watch off for the compass piece as well, but from habit of holding a compass.I highly recommend the watch to anyone who knows how read and use the functions. You can never have enough backup.

Material is low quality and the strap breaks quickly.
Great at keeping time. The Stop watch, timer work great. However I was never able to get much of the other functionality working. I cannot attest to the water resistance, but it survived the occasional splash of water from gardening.Unfortunately the material quality of the item is poor. It a cheap resin that decays quickly. Within 2 years the watch strap broke. Unfortunately replacing the watch strap seems to not be possible. And even if it was the connection points are made of the same cheep material and already feel... decayed. So even if the replacement strap I have would work with it, I feel these connection points would only last another 6 to 12 months.I had this watch on every day for about 2 years.
