Good player
I’ve been using this player for about 3 months now. So far so good. The sound is quite clear for the music. It also depends on which earphone I use too. The one that came with the player is good enough for my daily use. No problems connecting with Bluetooth speakers. Mine connects with $9 unbranded speaker up to $$$ Bose (and anything in between). I got this player while I was oversea. So tuning to a radio either here or aboard is not an issue. I might say I can listen to “some” stations while in a metal building which is very impressive. Watching movies from this player is acceptable. It’s not a home entertainment by any means. But it’s either this or watching paint dry. Oh, converting your movies to AMV format, that’s another story though! Here comes the not so good part. The foreign language on my files didn’t get displayed properly on the menu but it’s readable. The other issue I have is touchscreen keys. Don’t know if it’s just my sweating finger or what but sometimes the keys stuck with red light on. No big deal. I just have to wipe the area and do it again. Bottom line, I still like the player. I had the worse one before that only last a few days after the return period is gone. This one seems to have a nice quality build and battery last pretty good for my usage. A good MP3 player for the price and still last after 3 months!

Great Mp3 Player -Saves tons of phone battery and data!
Note - After buying another Berennis MP3 Player in the past, I was approached and given this new Mp3 player in exchange for a review; good, bad or otherwise. Other than the item, I haven't and will not receive any compensation for this review, and it has no impact on how I rate this. That being said it's a surprisingly great little Mp3 player as long as you keep in mind that it's main function is to play audio files. The best comparison I can make is to an original iPod, but at a fraction of the price and with a bunch of extra capabilities (recording, bluetooth, video files, memory expansion and even analog radio!). If you use your phone for everything, and thus struggle to have enough battery life or storage space, or need to limit streaming off your mobile data, then pulling your music and podcasts onto an Mp3 player is a great option. I've also run into a number of instances camping, hiking, backpacking or travelling where I didn't have service to stream music, and was glad to have this as a backup, especially with such a long battery life. Compared to the other Berrenis Mp3 Player that I bought (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D6KWPCY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) ; The screen is larger, clearer and sharper (definite improvement in quality), though in a side by side test the internal speakers aren't quite as loud (note- I didn't even realize either it had speakers until I unplugged the headphones, so pleasant surprise. They aren't that loud if you are outside or in a noisy area, but plenty around the house or quieter situations/background. If you need it louder, use portable speakers). The main difference and toughest part to get used to is the right side control panel, as opposed to the bottom. If you are left handed, this will be a struggle, it is meant to be held and controlled with your right hand. I keep grabbing it with the controls down (like traditional iPods and phones, etc) and have to rotate it widthwise to use. This is limiting if you want to use your left hand, but it hasn't been a big deal. Overall, saving my phone battery, memory and data, being able to bluetooth to external speakers or my car when driving and only charging every week or two (depending on use), this is great value and practical.

Greatly Improved! Still a great value.
Summary: Great value and reliability for this MP3 player for the price point. I decided to go for an upgrade to the previous model Berennis. I'm sure someone in the family will want the older one as it still works fine! (The smaller one in the picture on the left is old model.) As you can see from the pics, the new one is bigger but it helps with the display and navigation. Hope my review helps you make up your mind whether to buy or not. I know when you are looking for the best bang for your buck items you have to worry about quality and reliability. I didn't have any quality/reliability issues with the older version and so far the new version is doing well too. I know with cell phones MP3 players are not as in demand but I don't like to drain my phone for music. Phones are expensive so I prefer to wear out inexpensive MP3 players. I go hiking, backpacking and exercise so a smaller device is better too. PROs * The display is much improved. The menu shows more than 1 item at a time. Easier to navigate options. * Song information is better. (2nd picture comparison) * Bluetooth has improved and connects easier to my Bose Soundlink Mini. Old version I had to turn Bluetooth back on each time device is turned back on from power save mode to reconnect. New version auto-connects better. * Has more features (calendar, stop watch, alarm, picture, movie, ebooks...) * Long battery life. * Body of device is durable. I use it regularly at work. * Can take a micro-SD card but without it, it already holds hundreds of songs so may not need it. Unless you use it to store some pictures and videos. * Came with headphones. They work decent. I'm picky on my sound so I use better and unfortunately way more expensive options to use with the player. CONs * Unfortunately the manual volume buttons on the side went away. :( It allowed for easier adjustment without having to quickly turn the device back on. Fortunately boot up is faster so less inconvenient. (Not that big of a deal.) * What is missing that would be more handy than the volume buttons is a pause button on the side. I use this at the office and when people come up to me it would be more convenient to hit the pause then having to turn it back on (from power saving mode) to hit pause. I don't think any other brand has that option that I'm aware of so it would be nice if Berennis could add it. :) Note: Be sure to read through the product manual. There is a sub-menu level that gives additional setting options in certain places. I wasn't able to figure something out and wasted time just trying to figure it out on my own. Save time!
