I listen to its CDs and DVD video and my pronunciation has already improved. The book is complemented by the audio CDs and DVD which I could listen to while driving. Easy to read and simple to use, the audio is great and the pronunciation is very clear. I recommend it to pilots learning Aeronautical English and need to take English ICAO Exam. I'm very glad Review: Amazing Book of Aviation English - This book is very detailed and every aspect of Aviation English is well represented. The CDs are great and I think it is the best book for those non speakers of English who need to understand traffic control instructions.

Haven't tried to teach from this yet
The students I will teach have already had one course using Macmillan and they want more teaching so they can do well on the exams. This looks like it will add to what they know and give them a better chance to be excellent in their responsibilities as air traffic controllers.

My favourite book for preparing pilots for ICAO is Check your Aviation English. It's tailored precisely to passing the test, and includes plenty of Indian/African accents which, if not practised, could scupper the chances of a pilot whose English is otherwise very good. English for Aviation, while a fine book, concentrates on UK, US, Australian and South-East Asian accents. Flightpath is the better textbook, however. It practises the vocabulary and situations of aviation in greater depth than Aviation English or English for Aviation, and - this is the best feature in my view - constantly puts the student in the situation of responding verbally to cues. In Check Your Aviation English, each unit takes about one hour. Ideal for one-to-one with a pilot who has just realised that he/she has three weeks to prepare for the ICAO! Flightpath, on the other hand, is a long-term proposition. You can easily spend one hour on some of the pages, and there are a lot of pages. So: if the student is regular and intends to improve his/her Aviation English generally, this is the best book on the market. If he/she's in a hurry, I suggest going for Check Your Aviation English. Oh, and Flightpath includes DVDs which are very well done indeed.

It's a great book for review different topics. I think it will help me to apply for the OACI level 4. Thanks
