reliable brand
Love this. Certified organic. Housed in a tin, this has a great blend of essential oils known to help ward off pests. The scent is strong and Long-lasting. The scent for me lasts about 4-5 hours before it becomes faint. From what I know, These essential oils should be safe for your dog (not sure about cats). You can try some on their collar. To me, the scent isn't as offensive as say peppermint oil. It has citronella, cedar, lemongrass, rosemary , geranium, in a emoillent wax base of castor oil, extra virgin olive oil, and beeswax. I can definitely smell the lemongrass/rosemary/cedar combo. It didn't irritate my skin but I like to rub some on my clothing (do a test first for staining). I didn't find it oily or greasy on the skin because it seem to sink in. As a bug repellent, different pests respond to different essential oils, so it's hard to cover everything. If you are the type that attracts them, I found This is added insurance to keep them away, but if you are hiking/walking in an infested area, swarming with say mosquitos, I can't guarantee that you will 100% be protected. I have tried other badger products (lip balms) , and they are consistent in quality and value. I think they are great company.

Natural and effective!
⸻ Badger Anti-Bug Balm is a lifesaver during mosquito season! It goes on smoothly, smells fresh and natural (not chemical-y), and actually works to keep bugs away. I love that it’s made with safe, organic ingredients, so I feel good using it on myself and my kids. Easy to carry around, and way better than sprays with harsh chemicals.

Effective, great smell, great for little ones and adults.
This product is amazing a summer must have! I used it on my child when they were a baby by applying it to her clothes which washed out well later; although it's probably safe for her skin. It's great for adults too, no need to slather it on. A reasonable amount is good and it's small enough to put in your pocket or purse. The scent is pleasant not a rude in your face smell. It's apparently natural and I recommend giving it a try! It lasted along time and didn't breakdown. Check the expiration date. I have used it past the expiration date but I prefer it to be not expired.

Yes it works
It does repel. Bought it for mosquitos. But you have to keep applying cause it does not stay on for long. I like it cause it’s organic and deet free. It’s very thick, maybe if it was more like lotion form it would last longer. I ran out of it before my trip was over. If I purchase it again, I would need two packs. I would definitely recommend it as for as effectiveness.

Kept the mosquitos from biting, pleasant smell!
Just moved back to East Coast and living on a property that has a river running behind it, so lots of bugs, lots of mosquitos. I have basically always been mosquito bait and had already gotten 4 bites the first night we were in town after only being outside for 15 min. Not a fan of chemicals with two young children, one of whom is special needs, so needed a bug repellent that wasn't deemed a neurotoxin. Just put this on myself and one of my kids last night to go outside and catch lightning bugs at dusk for about 30 minutes. I just rubbed two fingers over the balm and applied around wrists, elbows, knees and ankles and a quick swipe up calves and forearms. By no means were we covered in it and if anything I was afraid I used it too sparingly, was almost terrified to wake up the next morning to see if we had bites. Pleasantly surprised we had not a single one. The bugs still landed on us here and there so they didn't totally avoid us but they didn't bite and that's what counts. I personally didn't mind the smell and found it mild compared to other natural bug repellents. It still smells like citronella so it's obvious that you have on bug stuff but the rosemary balances it nicely and I would say it's a muted scent and I didn't mind wearing it, but again I applied it sparingly. Also, I ordered two different natural bug repellents at the same time and they came in two different boxes, when I opened the other brand's box the smell was almost unbearable and that was before I opened the plastic bag it was contained in. The box with this balm in it was mildly fragrant. I love the fact that this is a balm and not a spray so that I have more control over the application of the product. I accidentally left this in a ziploc bag with my sunscreen in my car all day on a 90 degree day.... I was expecting to see it leaked everywhere and it wasn't, I brought the bag into the house and let the tin cool to room temp without having openend it. I used it a few hours later and it was perfect, I don't think it melted in the heat at all. So far so good with this product, happy to use it on myself and my children thus far.

How did we ever get along without this?
This stuff works great! We just put a little dab wherever skin is exposed and those little pests stay away. The smell isn’t that bad, either. Love that it’s all natural ingredients. The small tin is perfect for travel. We bought it for a trip a year ago, but even at home my husband uses it every day because mosquitos really like him if he doesn’t have his Badger balm on. We still have some left after a year! I did recently buy the bigger size to keep at home, which we’ll crack open once the small one eventually runs out.

Not as expected
It's OK. I live in the Pacific Northwest of WA. I was camping this weekend in on a mountain top in the Skamania region. On both evenings after excessively applying this balm on my body. Mind you, it does weigh pretty heavy on the skin. I still had small flies and gnats landing on me. Quite frustrating give all of the positive reviews. I am sure it works well against mosquitoes but small flies. Not so much...

The Best Mosquito Repellent
Works great for travel or even at home to repellent mosquitoes. Not sticky. Kids rather have this on them then the sticky spray on mosquitoes repellent. Works for hours! Doesn't have to reapplied. Smells great too.

Used this a few weeks back when i was stood next to a stream whilst Hubby was taking photos - (on the day the Sun was obscured by the Saharan dust in Derbyshire) - I was quite wrapped up but my face, ears neck and hands were exposed and I started to get bitten my midges so i applied this to my forehead, ears, neck and backs of my hand - it worked! - I lightly rubbed one finger in the pot and then swiped this across my forehead etc and repeated about 3 times to take effect - The smell is not overpowering but obviously enough to deter the midges - It appears this tin will last a fair while - You don't have to apply it all over - And no deet or nasty chemicals - Will be buying some more of this when the tin eventually gets near empty

I first came across this when I was in Canada, so I was really pleased to be able to buy some more in the UK. It works very well repelling flies and other flying insects when out walking. It’s a large tin so I tend to take a small amount out to put in an old lip salve container. The smell is also not too bad, very pleasant indeed.

Don’t be fooled by the product images, the size is very deceptive and overpriced! It’s very smaller than your hand’s palm. Not worth 45 SAR for item this small! Will never buy it again
