I started reading the book, but the bad english drove me crazy so I put it down and haven't looked at it since then

Good for professional technician, not so much for amateur. Light on actual procedure. Spend your money elsewhere.

The book deals the subject matter in a very superfluous manner. It does not deal with the technical details. It is useless for someone who is interested to learn in details the techniques of fault finding and repairing the different sections of laptop motherboard. What it should have done is arrange the the topics as per the different sections of the motherboard and deal in details the techniques required in repairing the different sections of the motherboad. It does not even discuss the techniques required to remove the components. The book has only touched on some common motherboard faults and not even cared to discuss in details how to remove the defective component or how to replace with good components.It does not even have schematics about the cases it has discussed.

This book only shows the common faults with the most famous oem manufacturers. Did not find any useful to learn fault finding techniques and component level repair apart from the common faults in most selling brands. Did not even show how to find a fault in motherboard. Good for those who already are good in finding motherboard faults and need to know a bit about common faults about some common laptops and their brands.

The book format is easy to follow, and there are nice pictures to help the reader, 5 stars
