Amazing penetration at 50 yards!
I purchased a Gamo Swarm Maxxim Air Rifle (.22 cal.) some months ago to thin the herd of destructive pack rats on my 24 acre property. They get into everything, including under the car hood and cause expensive damage. From what I've read, each air rifle has it's unique preference for manufacturer and design of pellets. You have to figure out what works best in your air rifle. Thus, I set out to find the best target and hunting pellet for my rifle. I've ordered quite a number of different pellets. I've found the Crosman Premier Domed Ultra Magnum pellets (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0039RFJI4) to be an excellent target pellet with very good grouping at my target practice distance of 30 yards. I've been rather disappointed with the hunting pellets I've tried until I tried these Haendler & Natermann H&N Hornet Pointed Airgun Pellets. That's it! I found my hunting pellet. These pellets have amazing penetration and accuracy in my rifle. I use spent butane canisters from my JetBoil to gauge accuracy and penetration. My target loads will put a hole in a canister at 30 yards but will not exit out the other side. I set up a recently spent canister 30 yards out. The H&N hunting pellet went right through the canister, creating an entry and exit hole. I've never had a pellet do that before! So, I moved the canister out to 50 yards (the furthest I would expect to use the air rifle), adjusted my scope for a little more down range, and took several more shots. Amazingly, the same results - the pellet goes completely through the canister. At that distance, the target pellets usually just dent the canister with the occasional entry penetration. Other "hunting" pellets I've tried grouped so poorly at that distance I missed more than I hit. None of them exited the canister. These pellets not only have amazing penetration but I'm able to hit the canister at that range with very good and consistent accuracy. Now I have my preferred target pellet and hunting pellets. These pellets are expensive! I was hoping to settle on something less costly but these H&N hunting pellets do out-perform all of the previous hunting pellets I've tried by a huge margin. I may keep looking for something less expensive but my expectations have now been set very high. One reviewer noted that these H&N pellets don't load well into the 10 round magazine used by the Gamo Swarm Maxxim. I initially had the same issue. However, I discovered that if you push the pellet into the magazine then tilt the magazine so the pellet falls back a little, the magazine will advance to allow the next pellet. It's a little tricky at first but after I got the hang of it, I am now able to easily and quickly load the magazine without issue.

AMAZING PELLETS
SUPER high quality pellets a bit pricey but very worth it for the pentration & accuracy of them. They shot around 500FPS in my MPX & I had not had any jams the entire container.

Thee Penetrators
Excellent penetration. This will make a 400 fps pistol punch through sheet metal. They are light, but the pointed brass tip really concentrates the energy well. Fantastic rounds. Just a touch pricey, but these are harder to make yourself.

Crazy accurate pellets
I found the pellets my .22 cal Gamo Hunter Extreme Pro loves. I installed a trigger kit last week and did some sighting in with a variety of pellets/slugs (see the attached photo). The wind was ripping, and these 30 yard results show it (note that some of the "flyers" are strictly due to trigger adjustments). However, the Hornets cut right through the wind (see bottom left of the target). These pellets are expensive, but they're worth the cost. My air rifle puts out a tick over 30 ft lbs, and these pellets only add to its usefulness, especially for pest control. If you're on the fence...

Amazing pellets, but lots of deformed ones
I would love to give these pellets 5 stars, because they do shoot amazingly well. Unfortunately I realized pretty quickly that there were also a lot of deformed and defective pellets in my tin. It’s almost like the process of embedding the nose cone into the lead pellet hasn’t quite been perfected yet, because 2 or 3 out of every 10 pellets I try to load into a 10-round magazine is so deformed that it wouldn’t fit into the magazine if I tried. H&N is known for having a low amount of defective pellets in a given tin, so maybe they need to upgrade their QA/QC process for this type. But the good pellets are better than good, they’re amazing. I’m getting consistent 1” groups at 40 yards. Some of the best pellets I’ve ever shot!

A little pricey, but very accurate.
These pellets are awesome. They are so accurate. I started out with the Crossman hollow point pellets and my shots were going all over the place on my first try to sight in the scope so I ordered these and as you can see with the target picture how accurate they are. I setup my target at 39.5 yards. My first shot was 1 inch low and to the right 1 inch. I adjusted the scope and my second shot was 1 inch to the right and the elevation was perfect. I adjusted the scope again and my next four shots hit within a three-quarter inch arrow with all 4 pellets hitting the bull’s-eye. This was made using the Gamo Coyote Whisper .22 caliber rifle.

Good pellets for hunting
Great pellets. Very accurate. Very consistent across pellets as well compared to other brands. Deadly on squirrels. Essentially punches a hole straight thru.
