Hohner USA Beginner Harmonica

I got this harmonica for my daughter's first birthday. When it came I realized I couldn't really teach my daughter to play it. I tried to blow on her face as I was playing it. I tried to put it in front of her when she was sighing or blowing air. We kept on trying, but she just didn't get it. And one day (couple of weeks later), she just got it! I was probably more excited than she was. First she played it so so gentle you could hardly hear it. But now she LOVES it! She figured out to exhale and inhale and also knows different hole plays different notes all on her own. She is only 14 months and she doesn't play songs with it or anything yet, but she loves music in general and is thrilled and proud to be able to play an instrument. I love the cute design and that it is made of plastc so it's not dangerous for little ones. The vendor even called me to ask if the color was OK before shipping it since it's a "color may vary" product and we got a pink one we love. Big thumbs up!

I purchased this item for my 4 year old mildly autistic son. He is very musically inclined, and loved it from the moment he realized what he needed to do to make it function. :-) Walked around with it constantly, alternately chewing on and playing it. :-) Alas, he has lost it now, but I will definitely purchase another. Just love to see this kid smile.

Bought this for my son. He accidentally dropped it on the floor and it had stop working completing. 1 star because it’s not at all durable. Waste of money

Has a very pleasant sound and is easy to play. Very good quality. It stopped making sound at after about 3 months of heavy use by my 2 year old. I took the harmonica apart and cleaned the reeds, put it all back together and it is good as new.

Before we gave this to our grandson, my husband opened it (the ability to do this a miracle in these times-kudos to Hohner for being able to do this) and found tiny metal particles on the reeds which he cleaned away. This is an instrument that is not only exhaled into but also inhaled. My husband cleans his harmonicas regularly so this was no problem for him. He likes the outer surface of this harmonica for kids because it had no sharp edges.

My four year old broke the first one in five minutes by dropping it on the floor. I thought it might be a fluke so I bought a second one. He broke that one in about half an hour.
