Pleased with this purchase
So far, so good. Have only used it twice, but here is my experience so far: - First of all, for those who are interested, the product is MADE IN CHINA. - Quality seems pretty decent. The power button and tap seem solid. It is not very heavy though - I was expecting it to be heavier. Will be easy to transport to parties. - Right out of the box, it was easy to set up. I filled it with water to see how many of my mugs could be filled when it was maxed out. I drained it through the tap and got about 20 regular size mugs out of it. Mine are just regular mugs, not the oversize ones and not the smaller dainty ones that usually come with your grandmother's china set. Based on the product description, I knew I was not going to get 30 with my mugs. I am happy with the 20 cups. Also, I had to tip it at the end to get a 3-4 of the remaining cups out of it. I wonder if this is a safety feature for the machine itself, so it does not run dry and burn out. - Filled the machine again to the top marker and made a test batch of coffee. I used the same amount of grinds that I would have used to make 20 mugs in my auto drip. - I came back after 40 minutes, and the coffee was ready (machine had switched to the "keep warm" setting). The coffee came out really good and exactly as I expected. I highly recommend doing the test batch to find your preferred strength. - One thing to note, on my machine the front water marker never changed from clear to dark color, even after the coffee was brewed and after I tapped a few cups. - The outside of the machine gets hot, but not dangerously hot. You would not burn yourself by touching it, but you wouldn't want to hold your hand on it either. The top lid gets much hotter, so do be careful there. It's very nice that the lid locks in place too. - The coffee comes out VERY hot, which is nice in my opinion. Just make sure the tap is out of kids reach. - After brewing, I poured myself 1 cup and then I turned the machine completely off and waited: * AFTER 30 MINUTES: coffee was steaming hot - basically the same as when the power was on * AFTER 60 MINUTES: still very hot - lots of steam coming off the coffee once it was in the mug * AFTER 90 MINUTES: still steaming! I think you could let it sit for 3 hours and still have reasonably hot coffee. - For the price, I am really happy with this purchase. Looking forward to using it when we entertain. - As others have mentioned, the only fault I can find is the hard-wired power cord. Wish it was detachable....

Works as great as it looks!
CAREFUL OF THE SMALL PIECE INSIDE BOTTOM OF STEM, IF IT IS LOST THE PERCOLATOR WILL NOT WORK CORRECTLY. Warning aside, this beautiful smaller-sized urn, works as great as it looks! I have used both this urn and the larger (50 cup) model, they are the same except for size. I had some consternation after looking at some of the negative reviews, but their "gripes" are apparently inaccurate, not surprising to me. Made of two-layer stainless steel, the polished outside looks great whereas the only non-stainless part that may interact with the coffee is the center heater piece, a part that cannot be avoided. The basket is stainless steel as well, another indicator of good quality. The percolator works very well, it is quiet and shuts off when temperature is reached, avoiding any overheating. If the unit does not remain upright it may require a "re-set" via pushing the button at the center under the unit. The 30 cups capacity refers to having the basket in place, or 30 x 5.9 = 177 ounces (5.2 liters). Without the basket in place (e.g., hot water or tea) the unit can hold 6.8 liters; this can be misleading as advertised. The unit is of unusually high quality for its price, and is comparable with urns costing about twice as much...a great buy!

Beautiful and tasty coffee
I LOVE my new coffee urn! I've been using a 50 yr old West Bend one in harvest gold. This one is shiny and new and makes great coffee. My family all commented on how good it tasted. It was easy to clean, and the Shiney sides did not get smudged up, which I was afraid could happen. Lots of clearance under the sprout too. I used 1.5 cups of grounds for 30cups if water in a light to med roast. It took about 30 minutes to brew. There are no disadvantages that I can see.

This product Used To Be Made With A Faulty Heat Fuse; Not Anymore
I purchased this product, and after a few months the heat fuse went out, and it stopped working. I called their Customer Service department, and they quickly replaced the unit. After receiving the second unit, a few months later, the same thing happened again. This time I just threw the unit away. I tried regular coffee makers, top named regular coffee makers, but they simply didn’t brew the coffee hot enough, and even if the coffee was hot, the burners never kept it hot enough. A few months passed, and I decided to give the Nesco another try, because the coffee it makes is really delicious, and HOT!! This second unit I purchased has worked flawlessly for right at one year now, and I have NEVER once had one single bit of trouble from it. It certainly seems to me that the initial problem with the heat fuse has been corrected. After a year of use, my conclusion is that if I ever have a problem, I will buy another, because this really now is a great coffee percolator, and well worth the money. Kudos to Nesco for correcting what was wrong with this. This REALLY IS NOW A GREAT PRODUCT!!!!!!!!!!! I use it every single day, and my wife, who, at first was opposed to having this type of coffee maker out on her counter, loves it.

Stainless Steel is Best Steel
I've had this coffee maker for nearly two months and have had good service from it. It does stay hot and will boil the coffee some more if I don't get the lid back on right. I enjoy having the sight glass so I can fill the pot with the sprayer at the sink without having to transfer just the right amount of water. The sight glass, though, does accumulate coffee staining. It's not been a problem yet so I've not had to figure out how to clean it. It's easy to clean fingerprints, water drips, and stains from the outside, and some green scrubbie and dish soap can clean stains off the inside. I'm pleased with this unit. We'll see how long it lasts, now. I usually get my percolators from a thrift store, but there haven't been any interesting ones lately. This one fits our bill.

No funciona adecuadamente.

I bought this unit to make Tea for a large dinner party on 1st try, placed the tea bags in the basket (that holds ground coffee) but did not work for tea bags. On next try, I just chucked the tea bags straight into the urn and turned it on. Worked really well, made excellent strong tea
