This product works so well with hard water or well water
We used this to fill a 575 gallon hot tub from our well which has pretty hard water. We use a conditioner in the house but our hose bibs are not conditioned. This pre-filter was easy to attach to the hose and it worked really well to reduce the hardness so we didn't have to mess around with adding softener to the tub. It was a real time saver when we started up our hot tub for the season. We'll definitely use it whenever we add water to the tub. The great thing is that it is rated for up to 5 complete fills of our hot tub!

Worked great!
Used this to fill my new Hotsprings Grandee spa since we use well water. It worked great and can be used 9 more times which makes it worth the cost.

Works well but too expensive. Valve is poorly made
I bought 2 of these Watkins filters. The valves leaked and broke on both. Poorly made. The filter works ok. I tested the water out of the faucet and then the water coming out of the filter. The water coming out of the filter had higher PH and less metal content. The problem is that it's too expensive. I don't see spending 80 dollars when you can get a filter for 20 to 30 dollars made by a name brand. They are all made in China anyway. The point is to just take some of the metals and impurities out. Unless you have really poor water quality, the benefits of these filters is nominal

Excellent for spa fill or pool top off.
Uses for spa fill and also to raise pool level after backflushes. Works well. Recommend to let water run onto grass first until totally clear and the gently move to spa or pool whilst water continues to run, otherwise you will get filter charcoal into the pool or spa. I added a particulate filter ahead of this because I am on a well. Mark gallons run through with permanent marker on side of unit.

Very disappointed they need to improve quality of plastic moulding to ensure the taps and fittings are water tight.
