If you have hard water or iron issues BUY THIS works great on small pool
Learn from my mistakes, don't waste all your time & money this summer. Here is how I cleared my brown iron infested pool up in just 3 days! We decided to attempt to set up a pool again this year & I forgot how tedious the whole process is, but this filter ended up being a savior! I decided to start small and ordered the 8ft intex pool from Target (99$) & although it claimed it came with a filter pump it didn't. I figured it was a small pool so I could get away with a small pump so I ordered an off brand 330 pump ($79). We have a septic water system so our water is full of iron thusly when we filled the pool it was super cloudy and murky. I hooked up the small filter and ran it for 10 days straight, cleaning out the cartridge daily and adding chemicals constantly...the water was slightly better but still very cloudy and brown (see 1st picture) and the iron particles that would settle on the bottom were too fine to vaccum up. After doing some research & reading a ton of reviews I decided to buy this filter. I knew from the reviews I needed to buy the adapters since I have a smaller pool, I got them for $16 here on Amazon. I read the gasket is not necessary & since it was a $60+ part I decided to hold off on that. While it works great without it it enables you to turn the water flow off for pump maintenance so it is helpful, I think eventually I will be getting one. The adapters are 100% necessary as the fittings are larger than the pool. So the filter & adapters came in just 2 days. It was super easy to install, took me like 30 minutes to do myself. If you're like me and super new to pools intex has some videos on YouTube that help a lot! I will admit the dual suction threw me off since the smaller filter only had 1 intake 1 output. Initially I installed it backwards & had 2 output hoses and 1 intake hose. The next day I realized my mistake and switched the hoses to 2 intake and 1 output. But, it still worked well that first night, that's how amazing this filter is. Being that my pool is so small this filter is super powerful!! The suction power is amazing & the output comes out like a hot tub. That old small pump didn't even move the water around, this one actually circulates it. If you're like me and have hard water or iron issues Google "pool sock method". I filled socks with pillow stuffing and zip tied them to the output hose than rinsed them clean a few times a day. The helped to collect those tiny stubborn iron particles. After the 1st night of running this filter the water was 80% clear (see 2nd picture). I was pleasantly surprised!! I continued using the pool socks and shocked the water the next day & it was 90% clear (see 3rd picture). After a few days of maintenance, chemicals and the occasional vaccum (I have one of those cheap pool vacs that hook up to a garden hose), I went outside to find the water 100% crystal clear!!!!! Literally all the iron particles GONE!!! Since it was super hot here last week the water feels amazing!! I feel like I finally conquered my greatest challenge yet...the brown pool water, and I owe it all to this filter!!! Yes it was a little more than I initially wanted to spend for a little pool, but it was SO worth it! I wish someone would have told me that before I wasted money on a subpar filter & weeks of having a brown pool no one could swim in!! Now that I have this amazing filter and know it works so well I plan on upgrading to the 12ft poolnext year... I just have to level out the ground better... (if you haven't put your pool up yet, LEVEL THE GROUND 1ST it really matters). But for now we are LOVING our little pool paradise. So if you have a small pump the upgrade is 1000% WORTH IT!

Works well on 15’ pool.
Put this on our 15’ pool. The original pump was smaller and had less bpm. This one creates alot of turbulence and is noticeably more powerful. This is a little louder than the last (smaller) one. Had for one season. Will see how it’s working this season. Would recommend.

Works great and decent priced
These are decent priced and work great for smaller above ground pools.

Powerful Little Filter That Roars (But Works Like a Beast)
I used this Intex C1500 cartridge pump with my Bestway above ground pool, and it’s honestly been amazing — once I figured out the adapter situation. Super easy to set up, clear instructions, and the suction is no joke. My pool went from “might need a net” to “crystal clear and ready for drama.” It is pretty loud — not lawnmower-level, but definitely not whisper-quiet either. If you don’t mind the background hum, it’s totally worth it. I just run it during the day and unplug at night. ✅ Used it with a Bestway pool — just needed a simple hose adapter ✅ Keeps my 830-gallon pool perfectly clean ✅ Easy cartridge access + strong water flow ⛔ Loud — not a dealbreaker, just a heads up if you love silence ⸻ Great power, solid price, little noisy. If you’re okay with the hum, it’ll keep your pool sparkling without a fuss.

Not a fan of the redesign model of this pump
Hate the redesigned version of this pump. The hoses fit entirely different, you have to have an extra washer and "hope" that it doesn't leak. Mine was missing one of the necessary washers and I had to buy additional washers. Supposed to have a "filter change" indicator on the top but does not work. Unfortunately if you have the Intex above ground pool you are limited to what you can buy for replacements. The only thing I can hope for is that it last longer than previous versions.

Great, but with a little anxiety!
For years I've had smaller intex easy set pools with low capacity pumps. They barely did the job. So this year when I upgraded to a larger metal frame intex pool I knew I wanted a stronger pump and the c1500 was only marginally more expensive than the 350 and 500 gph pumps I previously had. However, I didn't realize when ordering that the valve size would be different and the that the connectors on the new pump were threaded instead of clamped like on the smaller pumps. So it took a few days for me to sort that out and figure out what other pieces I would need to order. The anxiety I mention above comes from the fact that in order to change the valves in my pool to a larger size that would accommodate the c1500, I would have to cut holes in the new pool liner! Thankfully there are lots of videos showing you how to do it and in actuality, it was simple and fast. With the holes cut, and with the additional plunger valves I purchased (for about $30 on Amazon, not intex brand)I was able to convert the original valves from 1/14 to 1/12, and from clamped to threaded connectors. All of this to say when I finally fired up the C1500 the amount of water pumping through the system was awesome. So much stronger than the smaller pumps I've used in the past. I will say this too, there are valve adjustment packages that allow you to avoid cutting holes in your pool, but honestly that would defeat the purpose of the larger pump b/c you would be constricting water flow. So in the end, if you buy this pump know that you'll need additional plunger valves to be able to connect the pump, and you'll need to cut holes in your pool if they have the smaller valves. But while this may seem daunting, and I was honestly completely unprepared, in the end it was simple and the pump is night and day better for keeping things clean. Really happy with it.

Initially Worked Great (Still Works Great!)
6/21/19 UPDATE- my earlier 3 star review was due to contempt prior to investigation. Turns out the pump worked so well that my filter was dirty and needed to replaced after 3 days. The pool didn't look dirty enough to require a filter change yet, but when I pulled the filter, it was definitely dirty. Anyway, once I changed the filter the pump went back to working at full power. Lots of bubbles, lots of moving water. Very happy with the pump! If you're thinking about upgrading to this pump, do it. This is the pump I purchased to replace the slightly smaller version (which quit after 3 weeks). Initially this pump worked great, pushed water around really well and was much quieter that the previous pump. After less than 1 week of use the output is diminished to the point you can't even tell it's on unless you put your hand in front of the and no aerating bubbles are being produced. Hard to believe that tiny under-powered original pump that came with the pool worked better and for longer. Going to have to order ANOTHER replacement pump and hope it lasts longer.

Does it's job very well.
Bought this for small above-ground pool this summer. It was very easy to install and get hooked up with pool hoses. The filters do a great job, and the pump and filter do a great job at keeping my pool clear and sanitary. It is very simple to remove filter for cleaning/changing. It is a bit noisy, but it is on a screened patio. So I'm pretty sure it echos. That being said, when I went out to end of property line next to neighbor, I could not hear anything. I built a sound proof box for it anyway. I like the timer feature. It has a 1 hour, then 2, 4 6, 8 12 hour. Whatever time you initially turn it on and set the hours for, it will run for that then come on again and run for those set hours at the time you initially turn it on. I like that it gives you options. And timer very inconvenient so you don't have to turn it on every night/day once you select what you want. It's very sturdy and does not take up much space. So far, so good.
