Great camera. I purchased this for $189
Great camera. I purchased this for $189. I have owned this awsome little camera for almost 1 year and it still works great. I have jumped of cliffs, snorkeled at 40ft and dropped it a bunch. I did not read the book it came with for about 2 month after receiving it and that is when I found out all this little guy can do. Features: multiple shooting modes, uderwater mode, panoramic shots up to 360, wind reduction for videos, transfer photos wireless, video at 1080p 60 fps, and more. I am the kind of person that like to buy something that will last so I am glad I purchased this camera. It also has a removable battery which is nice because batteries don't last forever and if you don't have a charger you can just swap it out. I read the other reviews that said it broke shortly after they purchased it or after one use. You have to remember that electronics are not supposed to go in the water. So before use you have to make sure the watertight door is closed correctly and after use you should clean it. If you take care of your camera it will last a long time. I also purchased an interchangeable wrist strap for mine so it would float. The yellow float in the photo was purchased separately.

This camera exceeded my expectations
This camera exceeded my expectations. I was looking to upgrade my underwater camera after a recent trip to Cozumel. There I saw photos taken with a Nikon Coolpix and was very impressed with the quality. My underwater camera at the time was an old (2006) SVP underwater camera that did a fine job but the ratio of good to poor photos was low. There were two primary reasons why I purchased this Fuji camera over the Nikon: 1) price and 2) recommended depth. The Nikon cost almost twice as much and was good only to 30 (or maybe 33) feet. This camera had a listed waterproof depth of 50 feet. We took the camera on a dive vacation to Baja California Sur where we dove or snorkeled all but 3 days on a 2 week vacation. The image quality was amazing. It consistently took sharp, clear pictures both on land and underwater. Though we only took a few indoor photos the quality of those images was better than expected, too. On several occasions we took the camera below the recommended 50' depth when scuba diving. On 3 dives it went to 80+ feet and performed remarkably well. We were impressed with how substantial and solid this little camera is. The battery/memory card door has a substantial metal hinge. The locking mechanism would be extremely hard to accidentally open and makes an audible click when the knob is turned to the lock position. The buttons are easy to use even under water. We were easily able to change modes, turn on the flash and shoot video while underwater. I would add that this might not be the case if we were wearing gloves as the buttons are small, about the same size as a standard point and shoot camera. We didn't deliberately test the dustproof part of the claim but after snorkeling one day I dropped the camera in the sand. I didn't try to open it until it was well rinsed but there was no jamming or other problems following this incident. Again, we didn't plan to test to confirm that the camera was shock proof but it survived several accidental drops onto tile and asphalt from a few feet (not the 6' in the product description) with no ill effects. One aspect of this camera that most impressed us was how fast it recycled and allowed a second photo and a third. It seemed to cycle faster than our superzooms by a fair amount. For example, we were photographing some surfers on Divorce Beach and were able to fire off 3 or more shots in rapid succession. The cycle rate does slow down a bit, as is expected, when the flash is in use but it is still pretty quick. The camera is superb for the cost but, there are two downsides worth mentioning. The shutter button and the on/off button are close together. The shutter button is significantly larger than the on/off button but in moments of excitement, sharks, manta rays, etc., we occasionally turned the camera off rather than taking a picture. The battery life is OK but could be better. On a three tank dive the battery lasted through the first two but only long enough for 3 or 4 photos on the third. Usually, by the end of a morning in the water either diving or snorkeling the battery would be flat. Though we could buy a second battery, changing one on a sandy beach or a wet dive boat isn't something we would recommend. A number of other reviews mention issues with the wifi feature of this camera. We have not yet tried this feature and probably won't. We're kind of old fashioned in that we still remove the memory card and plug it into our laptops to transfer photos. If I had to travel with just one camera, instead of a superzoom or DSLR and an underwater camera or two, this would be a fine camera to use. The size makes it particularly easy to travel light, it fits easily in a pocket. I would highly recommend this camera and have recommended it already to my diving friends.

Worked Great for Hawaii Trip
Spouse and I bought this camera for a trip to Hawaii, thinking it would be nice to have something sturdy and waterproof, and an extra camera as a backup for taking photos with our phones. It met our expectations beautifully. We were able to take photos on the beach, in the water, everywhere we went. The photo quality is good, and the camera is easy to use. A couple of complaints: (1) The on/off switch is right next to the film recording switch. So a couple of times we lost videos when we pressed the on/off button by mistake to end a film in progress. (2) The phone app is terrible - it has to be restarted for each use - so we ended up just not using it. We had hoped to use the Wi-Fi function to send photos to our phones to share on social media, but it was too much bother. Overall, though, we're really happy with it and feel it's a great buy and a good value.

Lessons Learned = great photos and videos
I used this camera exclusively for snorkeling photos and it worked great! The first snorkel adventure I did not have the resolution set high enough, so the fish were a little blurry. For the second snorkel adventure, I set the camera on the highest resolution and the results were great, even though this was an overcast day. I also learned that you need to hold the camera very steady to take underwater movies. My fault actually, as my swimming was too jerky. Many videos turned out great and even more sharp than the photos. I tried the 'burst' setting and that was fun because I got about 5 photos of a moving fish and then threw out 4, but kept the one with the best angle. I found that I could take a photo or video about every 30 seconds for about 1.5 hours (at the highest resolution setting) and then I came close to filling up a 128 GB memory card. The battery lasted the full 1.5 hours and probably more, but I did not go beyond that usage before I charged it up again. I've uploaded a few photos and an underwater selfie.

Awesome point and shoot camera. I also have a older XP60 and I really like the added features in this camera. The WIFI capability is great, I paired it using the app on my Iphone and now I can be in group photos and see the picture on my phone before I take it. An other feature I like is the timed continuous photos option, I can take photos at every 30sec for the next 30 minutes while I<m working so I get pictures of the progress without stopping to take a picture, very happy with my purchase.

Looking forward to getting this camera into the pool or ocean, especially because its depth tolerance is greater. On dry land it takes nice pics; not outstanding, but fine for normal shooting. Tested out the wifi transfer and it works well, which is one one of the main features for which I bought this camera. If you're on Apple IOS, be sure to get the proper app from the store because there are two or three. Fujifilm "Camera Remote" is the right one.

I bought this to take on a swimming holiday in Greece. It worked brilliantly. I was a little nervous about salt water at first but it seemed to fair well right from the first. I carried it tucked into the top of my swimsuit to have handy just in case, so it was completely submerged all the time I was swimming. The photos are great (though not as nice as my Galaxy) . I also purchased an accessories kit for it which included an extra battery and floaty wrist strap, among other things. Good purchase but the one battery easily lasted for a couple of days of use. I recommend getting to know the settings and how to switch up the shooting mode quickly. It has wifi so it hooks up to your smart phone or tablet to transfer the photos with the Fuji app, however I found that it works best with a very strong wifi signal (not the case at our hotel) and if you only select a few photos at a time to upload. You can also use the usb to upload to your pc, of course. Video worked well and underwater still and video were pretty good, though I found it helpful to zoom on schools of fish etc All in all, very happy with my purchase!
