Summertime means Rash Guard Time
I laugh when I see nearly EVERY review on a rash guard regardless of brand talk about how they are too small. Rash guards are supposed to fit snuggly (like a swim suit) and it looks like the industry has not adjusted their sizing just to accommodate parents of kids expecting a loose fitting shirt. So if you want one that is a little loose fitting, get at least a size up or try non-surf brands like Carter's and Circo. I got this and another one by O'Neill in a size 4 for my son who normally wears a 2T. He is not surfing, boogie boarding or swimming so he won't care if his shirt is loose and flapping around a bit. When he gets older and is doing these activities for real, he can wear a tighter fitting guard. For now, it helps me to have the extra room for changing him since he cannot change himself. Also, remember that when the guard is loose, it can be colder especially in the wind as the material is not directly against the body which helps keep you warm. Also, look around for pricing. You should be able to get one of these in the $10-$12 range.

Rash guard
I bought this for my 12 yo son who is more like a size 10/11 and good thing I bought the 14 or I would have had to return it. They only last one year anyway(remember as it stretches it loses it's UPF so wash according to label) so I don't have expectations of keeping it longer than it would take for him to outgrow it. It is snug all over as it should be and the only drawback is it is a little long...better than a little short :)

Very small fit
Great colors and fabrics but way too small. I realize a surf shirt/rash guard fits snugly but my son was having to "suck in " to try this on.. I ordered his true size (14) and it fit more like an 8-10.I didn't even try the 16 as I don't think it would have fit either. Too bad. A nice shirt.

Good shirt. Size up
Good shirt. Size up. To fit snugly size up one or two sizes. My son wears a size 6 and I had to get him a 12 for it to fit like a regular t-shirt. (10 would have been perfect but out of stock.)

BE Sure to order 2 sizes larger..
I bought this for my son, and the wears a 12 youth, so we order (the Second order) a size 16 to be safe.. and That was the right the fit.. Son is medium sized kid, Enjoy Your Summer, be Safe.

It was a bit too small
My son is skinny so I went by the size chart but the shirt came in too tight. He still likes the color and wears though.

Runs small
I ordered a size 12 for my average sized 11 yr old. It was too small, not too tight just length wise it fit above his waist. I would order 1-2 sizes up.
