Betty Crocker's Cooky Book (facsimile Edition)

5 stars is not enough stars for the Betty Crocker Cooky Book! My mom had this book and we grew up with her making some delicious cookies from it. Among them were Ethel’s Sugar Cookies, Chocolate Crinkles, Snickerdoodles and Peanut Butte Cookies. I was able to find a copy and bought it many years ago and continued the tradition with my boys. I just bought it for my daughter-in-law who loves to bake so she can enjoy the many cookie recipes as my mom and I. The recipes and pictures are awesome! This book is a treasure! So much nostalgia! They don’t make them like this anymore!

My original 1963 edition of this book finally fell apart and I was thrilled to find this facsimile copy. This edition looks exactly like the original with exactly the same illustrations and the same terrific recipes. I was especially impressed at the quality of the facsimile - it was so well done that I was unable to find any difference between this volume and the 1963 printing. As far as the book itself, it really is the only cooky cookbook a person will ever need. It's filled with hundreds of recipes with easy to follow instructions and common ingredients. Many of the cookies are illustrated too so you'll know what the finished product is supposed to look like. My kids used this book to bake their award winning cookies for 4-H and County Fair competitions; I've also made hundreds of the recipes myself for school & church bake sales with every recipe a crowd pleaser. This book includes a chapter on historical cookies you can make and also contains fantastic icing & frosting recipes for decorating. An excellent book and one that every home baker should own.

I’ve had the original of this cookie book since I was in high school. It was one of the things that we were given in the home economics class. Mine was old and tattered and I needed a new one and when I found this one I ordered it and it is perfect. It is exactly the same as the one that I had in high school. It’s wonderful.

After having my book stolen (1) I was beyond thrilled to have this new edition just like the original. This was always my "go to" for favorite cookies. This book is a genuine treasure! And arrived just in time for Christmas baking.

Some of these recipes are very strange. They look like they are very old recipes that don't seem very appetizing, however, some of them look pretty good. The book is very sturdy and seems like it will hold up over many years of use.

This cookbook includes all the American classics from Toll House Cookies to Snickerdoodles to Peanut Butter Cookies to Brownies! I have lived in the UK for a very long time, but there really is nothing in this country that compares to American style home-baked cookies!
