I was suffering from hip and back pain at night which meant I was loosing lots of sleep and stiff in the morning. I was hoping that my old topper was past its best as buying a new mattress was out of the question. After a lot of research and reading reviews I decided to buy this topper. Came next day delivery which is always great. I was prepared to lift a heavy box into the house. However presently surprised it was very light. As much as I wanted to get it set on my bed, I resisted and followed the instructions. It is important to do this. The only place I could lay it flat without it being too much in the way was in my bedroom. So prepared myself for the room to smell a bit as toppers can. Again I was surprised, there was very little odour. My 7 year old quite enjoyed hitting it and rolling on it, to help get it in shape, it was a good workout. Finally I was able to put it in the bed. A lovely cover with straps made it very secure. The instructions do say to give it a try for a couple of weeks to feel the full benefits, and they are right. It has took around 3 weeks for maximum comfort, but now it is extremely comfy, a lovely nights sleep, and no more aching back or hips. I am very pleased with the topper and at the mid price point, well worth the money.

Update: this topper did eventually finish outgassing and smelling bad after about one month. I like it just fine now and seller was supportive through the process. Changed from two to four stars: it's a good topper but be prepared for a lot of extra airing beyond the advised 48 hours. Leaving the original review below for posterity. ------ I'm not particularly sensitive to smells, but this mattress topper is really very smelly. It has a rubbery, harshly chemical reek. The instructions say to leave the topper uncovered in a well-ventilated room for 48 hours before zipping it back up and using it. I ended up leaving it for about 80 hours, turning regularly. After this time, there was still a noticeable pong in the air, despite me having a large bedroom with large windows left wide open, with air freely circulating from the rest of the house to the outside, and leaving a fan on the whole time. Hoping for the best, I washed the cover and my bedclothes with a nice fabric conditioner, put some scented dryer sheets inside the cover, and made up the bed. A week later, and my bedroom still stinks. Whenever the windows aren't fully open, the smell accumulates, and the bedclothes have absorbed the foul odor and they too stink. Although the stink is possibly getting less pungent as the days pass -- I wonder if I'm just getting used to it? I'm going to give this topper a several more weeks and go through another cleaning cycle to see if the problem resolves, and then update this review accordingly. I notice in the "Answered Questions" section above, someone asks about the bad smell -- and a lady replies advising to leave the topper to air out in well-ventilated conditions for FOUR WEEKS and says "good luck". That reply is heavily downvoted. Why? I can well believe that might be what it takes to get rid of this smell... and I'm puzzled that more reviewers haven't mentioned the issue. I really hope for the best because in all other respects this is an excellent topper. The cover is very well designed, a good fit with a non-slip texture on one side. My mattress is somewhat too soft, saggy, with lumpy hard bits and this topper resolves all those issues. But if it doesn't stop smelling so bad I'll just buy a new mattress.

Product arrived next day as expected, rolled up in a box. There was absolutely no smell when we opened it up. We left it to air about 8 hours (we are impatient) and stuck it on the mattress. It felt incredibly comfortable, we really noticed a difference, BUT the first night we did not sleep at all. We felt rested but no sleep. We were thinking of returning but we decided to give it a another chance. Well, from the 2nd night onwards we’ve had the best sleeps ever. You just need to give it a night or two to get used to it. No matter which position you sleep in, you’ll always feel your body is supported and those gaps between your back and the mattress - gone!! Also very good breathing (or whatever the term is) as you don’t feel baking hot at any point during the night. Overall perfect buy, we are very happy, and much cheaper than a new mattress, which we were considering. EDIT JAN 2020: 2 months in, I sadly say, the mattress has lost its firmness and I am back in the same position (as it were) with a curved back and pain again. What a shame!! It was excellent while it lasted. I thought it was too good to be true. We will try turning the it 180 degrees, fingers crossed.

I do like this mattress pad, it has improved my sleep quality somewhat, however, it hasn't improved my back pain as much as I thought it would. However, I have an electric blanket over the pad, so that may be why it's not helped my back pain. I've been a long time user of memory foam mattress pads, and they are excellent if you like a comfy night's sleep. This pad seems to be of good quality so far, it's nice and thick, and has kept its shape, just as you'd expect from a memory foam mattress pad. I especially liked that I could get it in a smaller than single size, because my husband likes a very firm mattress, so he won't use a mattress pad like this. This pad fits perfectly on my side of a king size bed. We even measured to make sure we got equal bed width for both of us, and it was spot on! Highly recommended.

Also eigentlich ganz in Ordnung, ich habe aber keine Schmerzen. Mein Vater schon und meint das verstärkt den Schmerz wenn man "einsinkt". Kapiere ich aber nicht -- ist aber wohl so. Er hat sie wieder rausgeschmissen. Ich nicht.
