Amelia Bedelia and the Surprise Shower (I Can Read, Level 2)

Amelia Bedelia is a favorite of all young girls learning to read. The stories are realistic and easy to read. I have bought them for all my Granddaughters and now for my Great Granddaughter.

I bought this for my 6 year old daughter. She is a bit of an advanced reader but this would be great for 7-8 year olds. I consider this a perfect bridge between beginners reading and chapter books.

You just can't go wrong with Amelia Bedelia! For the young reader; she captivates and keeps them giggling and reading on and on!

It's a great story with many new words for 4 year olds

とてもきれいな英語をきれいな声の女性が読んでくれる聞き取りやすいＣＤです。文法レベルは中２くらいあると思います。amelia bedeliaという名前のお手伝いさんがご主人の言いつけを勘違いするというコミカルなお話で小５の私の息子も喜んで聞いています。たとえばPrune the hedgzeという表現は普通に解釈すると垣根を切りそろえるという意味なのですが、無理やり勘違いして垣根にプルーンを刺したりします。面白い話なのですが、２つの意味のある単語のマイナーなほうの意味を知っていなければ笑えません。きれいな英語ですが、日常会話程度は理解できる子でなくては難しいと思います。逆に言うと少し英語力のある子には、勉強になるいい教材だと思います。初めて読むときには親御さんが辞書をひいて勘違いのツボを解説してやるひつようがあるでしょう。ちょっと難しいけれどとても面白いかわいいお話です。
