Garden Helpers H168 5-1/2-Inch Plastic T-Plant Labels and Plant Marker Pen, 48-Pack, White

I've used these before and was enlarging my garden so recently bought more. These are great in my opinion. The ones I already have that I've used for years are still good and they are very sturdy and easy to read in the garden with the size of the writing space. I don't use the labels or pen that came with it though. I use a permanent market and sometimes if I want to reuse a stake, I put on one of the labels I use for my freezer which are cold and moisture resistant and then write on those with a permanent marker. But overall these are really nice and sturdy plant label stakes as compared to other ones I've used in the past.

I use these to mark the different veggies that I grow. One year I grew four types of garlic and I wanted to keep track of which plants where which - I was testing varieties in our climate and wanted to know which ones to plant again. I keep track of different herbs, lettuces, etc. I found that I can reuse these over several planting seasons if I am planting the same items. They do a great job, last a long time, and are reasonable priced. I recommend them for anyone planting a garden who wants to track their plant varieties.

The plant stakes themselves are great but the pen that comes with it sucks. After shaking and depressing the point, it worked for the first several stakes I marked but then a week later, I couldn't get it to work. I shook it, depressed the point, ran water on it and finally burned the tip. Nothing would get the ink flowing.

which I PAID FOR... markers & PEN! I received SEALED product H169 packet (H-one-six-NINE) of twenty-four markers ONLY! NO PEN! WHICH makes this an overpriced item, and I am a loser for not to going to the local garden center. ONLY THING WORSE would have been WASTING MORE TIME & HASSLING TO RETURN this item to the seller! The plastic markers are OK as temporary markers, but the "spike" is thin and flimsy, prone to snap off right below the marker writing area. This product would have been a 4-star had I received what I ordered including a PEN suitable for writing on the slick plastic. ONLY A FINE sharpie marker seemed to work... & those cost about an additional $2-3/marker at the office supply store. BUY ONLY if you are prepared to furnish your own pen and overpay for the item. I suspect the PROBLEM is with the Amazon seller (who apparently cannot keep inventory straight) and not BOSMERE who surely must include a PEN in the pre-sealed H168 package.

These garden markers were so easy to use and helpful that I ended up ordering 2 sets. The only drawback was that the marker didn't work the second time I ordered them; however, a Sharpie did the job just as well.

The labels are ok, although there is a plastic bubble on one side of each that makes writing difficult, so be sure to pick the smooth side. The pen that came with was exploded on arrival, ink all over the plastic package. Luckily I had ordered 2 black China Markers (based on iffy reviews of the pen here) and they've worked great as a substitute.

The sticks themselves are reasonably sturdy. Pen is useless, there is no color to the pen. The mark the pen leaves is almost invisible unless the stake is held at an angle. it is equivalent to writing with invisible ink.

I need garden plant labels for my herb and vegetable garden and this did the trick for me! (I have even reordered them!) I can label them front and back including my planting date. The marker works great and my garden looks neat with these. They are easy to move around and so far in the New Orleans sun,heat and humidity the writing has NOT faded a bit! (3 months now).Highly recommend!
