Best pack for serious hunters!!
This is a really great pack. I needed a pack that I could methodically and purposefully pack for hunts.....elk, bear, deer.......and really get full use of. This is it.......I have spent prob over a thousand dollars on various packs that ended up being great packs for maybe a day trip, but this pack covers it all. I can carry all of my gear tailored to each hunt very comfortably and never have to worry about the pack failing. It is constructed very well to handle abuse and all weather and it kept all of my $3,000.00 + rifles I carried in it safe and covered. I even used the pack as a shooting rest for the shot on my bear. I am also sure I overloaded it as I strapped a bunch of extras to the outside and still comfortably carried everything for literally miles and miles. Do not hesitate....buy this pack as it will be the last one almost any hunter should ever need. i am very tough on gear and even tougher on reviews.....so this one means business.

Perfect pack for PRS competition!
I bought this to carry my gear during PRS matches. It works perfectly! I carry my ammo, spotting scope, magazines, tools and cleaning kit, as well as snacks and water. Very comfortable to carry heavy loads over rough terrain and keep all my stuff organized. Eberlestock makes excellent packs and bags, and this is another exampler.

Worth the extra money!
I know this pack costs a little more than most backpacks, but like in anything else you get what you pay for. This backpack is exactly as advertised and very well constructed. The pack has easy to access compartments with tons of molle webbing in and out I am larger than the average man (6'2" 235 pounds) and needed every last slot on the adjustable shoulder harness to properly fit the pack. It can carry everything I need for a 3 day trip comfortably and the rifle pouch is awesome! The fit is a little tigh,t but I can store my gun with the optic on and a 20 round clip (will not fit with a 30 or 32 round clip). I have a DDM4 V11 AR 15 with a vortex strike eagle 1-8 optic. I also use this pack as my range bag since it has so many convenient carry handles.

Great Bag
This is a really great bag. It is light for how big and durable it is. The straps are very comfortable. The lumbar support is a little aggressive, but I imagine many will carry much more than I do (or at least heavier things). It is a little clumsy at first to get the rifile in the scabbard with the shape of the back of the backpack (there is some contour to it, which feels very nice, but makes it narrow just after the opening of the scabbard, feels odd pushing the rifle in, but no actual problem). It works fine even with optics (fits a Stag Arms Super Varminter with 24 inch bull barrel without difficulty, and while AR based, this is a heavy rifle and big with optics. I only mention it because it is my longest and heaviest). Just took the bag on a pig hunt, and it worked great. I have to admit, it is also pretty sharp looking, which doesn't hurt. The dry earth color is a little darker than in the pictures. The shoulder straps, padding, lumbar support, and lumbar straps are great. The pack is also fairly easy to adjust for comfort (one can move the shoulder straps at their insertion site), and feels very comfortable on your back. The load feels much lighter on your back than when you are pulling up the back and getting it on (it feels deceptively light when fully loaded, which is great!). There are so many straps it can be a little confusing to set up, but once it is set up, it works very well, and they all tie down well so there is a low likelihood of snagging on things. Overall, I like it a lot, in some ways I wish it was a little smaller, but then it would lose some utility (others have had the opposite concern and would like it bigger, likely depends on how much you like/need to take with you). I think it makes a perfect balance with size and utility for a 3 day pack (might be just a little smaller than some of the SOC 3 day packs, which I think is actually nice, and I like the layout and shape much more than say the "bug out bag" from SOC [although the bug out bag from SOC is also a nice bag, especially for the price, albiet a fairly heavy bag]--also tried the High Speed Low Drag bag from Eberlestock, but the shape of the compartment was not as usable as the Gunslinger II so I returned it, otherwise would have been a nice, smaller and less expensive alternative). The flexibility built in and the added flexibility with the webbing is outstanding. I also like how the scabbard can fold and is concealed so that one can use it as a regular pack as well. Just some mild criticisms and the reason for the 4 star rating: One oddity is that the top cover/compartment (for magazines, or pens/toiletries) attaches to the bottom via long straps which works like a vertical compression strap. This would be nice, but it does compress/put pressure some of the components in the top portion of the pack including the soft sunglasses compartment, and makes the webbing at the underside of the pack difficult to use. I had a sleep system attached to the underside, and while this worked, it was a little cumbersome and felt less secure since the webbing on the underside of the pack is dependent on the two straps and buckles that work as compression for the the pack to stay in place. Also the butt cover feels a little flimsy (at least in comparison) and not as padded as the rest of the scabbard. The clean out zipper at the bottom of the scabbard is very nice. These criticisms are minor however, and may be trade off's for improving function in other areas. I hate for those to stand out (negative comments always tend to have more impact than positive), because it really is an amazing bag. It was great for my recent trip and I can't wait to get more use out of it.
