Q: which side should be facing the wireless devices? The Alfa logo can only face the back of the modem/router, toward the wall.

Hi, The side with the "Alfa" logo is the one to point toward the station.

Q: Should the "alfa" logo face the front or back of router? how do i do this asus rt-ac68w since this turns only 180 degrees?

If you point the logo away from the router your upload speeds will drop, In my case on the 5g line it dropped to zero, I still have plenty of download, but you need upload too
