Least expensive, exactly the same as expensive ones
Alibaba product? Works well until it doesn't, so why spend more? Had same model for long time, needed second one so this is it. Works well and very useful.

House Plant Hobby (Tend to over water then you need this!) Helper
I am THAT person who tends to overwater houseplants and this prevents that. It is accurate and is an excellent value for the money. All of my plants from the expensive ones to the more common are doing much better as I can immediately know if they are at the right ph, have enough moisture, and then proceed accordingly. It has made a huge difference and has saved several plants already. If you are new to the hobby or not this is a key tool to have. I would recommend - have had it for a while and it is sturdy and consistent in its findings. Just get it, you will not regret it!!!

If it doesn't work immediately try several more times
After the test results below, I kept sampling and after about 10 tests THE METER started working just fine. I think that the meter might have some sort of protective coating when shipped, but works fine after the coating gets worn off. This was my test...(and note that it works satisfactorily now. I tested the meter and found the following: I tested 4 plants watered 1,8, 22 & 35 days prior and all of them measured a 2 on Moisture meter. The soils were from damp to BONE dry, but all showed the same reading (Level 2) on the moisture meter. I tested a glass of water to ensure that the meter actually was responding to moisture and the glass of water measured 8 of 10 on the moisture reading, so it can detect moisture. Not being able to differentiate between wet soil and BONE DRY was not good enough to help me know when to water my plants. HOWEVER, as mentioned above, I kept testing and the meter started working fine. I would recommend one of these.

Does Not Work At All
This doesn't work at all, and it never did. I tested it and the needle didn't move. I tested in dry soil and wet soil, for moisture only; and it did not budge. Sadly, I thought it was me and saved it good as new in the box to try it again. Today, after a friend showed me one that is from a different manufacturer and is moisture only (and it did seem to work); I tried it again. It is good as new and is a worthless inert assemblage of plastic and metal in a nice box. Do not buy this as, like me, you many be throwing away your money.

All right for the price
I got this specifically for testing the pH of the soil around my plants. Out of the box, only the light sensor seemed to work, so I got some steel wool and scrubbed both probes from top to bottom. After that, the pH and moistness meters both started working. Not needing batteries is definitely a plus. Disregarding the issues mentioning at the start, meter seems to work, though the range of pH, from 8 to 3.5 on an analog display, could've been narrowed way down to something like 7.5-5 so you would get a more precise measurement in the range that plants usually prefer. Not bad for the price, though, as it'll allow me to know when soil is too alkaline before plants begin to develop chlorosis

Handy tool for houseplant and garden prep
Sincegrouns is still frozen where I live, I have only far used this to help me figure out problems with houseplants. My home gets very little natural light, so the light meter has helped me figure out best placement to keep my indoor plants healthy. The moisture meter is nice. With the dry winter air, just feeling the top of the soil is not always reliable to tell when my plants truly need watering. I have struggled to keep plants alive as long as we have lived in our current home. Hopefully I will have better luck now. I can’t wait to use this to test the pH of the soil for our vegetable garden this spring.

Trustworthily
This item is great. Very accurate. I buy a lot of plants on line. I had been wanting this tool for sometime and the best price was amazon. It tells you if your plant is too wet or dry or just right. It will tell you if the lighting that the plant/plants is adequate. It even lets you know if your soil is good or needs help. All in all I could not do this without it.

Quick, efficient, easy to use and accurate💜
Love the soil meter! So easy to use and accurate. I kept forgetting to water my plants or overwatering because I forgot I already watered my plants. But with the water meter, no guessing. Put some of my plants on a differing water schedule too because some plants didn't need to be watered weekly but I was trying to water everything once a week, so I wouldn'tforget.... Plants look healthier and survive longer. Bought as gifts for others too. Whoever made this- thank you!

Such an amazing tool for irrigation auditing. Now I can know when the irrigation shall be stopped and adjust the irrigation schedules based on the real plantation water needs.
