Neither one works but for a reason. I had the same problem as others on here where the 3.5 mil female side is faulty and has connectivity issues because I was trying to use a trss plug in a trs adapter which causes grounding issues...the alignments are off. Best to check the 3.5 mm plug you plan on using on this adapter, two lines on the male plug = trs, three lines on the plug = trss. I think I got this right, check before buying. I changed my rating from a one to a four since the fault was mine as it is with others on here (presumably).

Product doesn’t work properly! Can only hear sound from one side of headphones. I bought two. Both don’t work. Do not recommend

Needed this in a pinch, I don't think it insulates well against electrical noise, and It creates a bit of a hum, or a buzz through my speakers.

Received a set of 2. Both are faulty. Maybe its a short cut inside or anything...anyways. Poor sound. Not stereo. Definitely a faulty batch. Very dissatisfied.
