nabi Junior Learning Tablet for Kids (SNBJR-MT5C)

Update: I love our Nabi so much I have to write an update. I downloaded Amazon app store (I found a Utube instructional video on how to do it) My son is now almost 4 and we've had it over two years...started with the very basic games when he was 18 mo (baby phone, leapfrog letter flashcards, then as he grew...3 piece puzzles, Elmo counting, etc). Now moving into more involved learning games (bigger puzzles, sliders, letter tracing, phonics, etc). I highly recommend this product. It's been over two years and I expect quite a few more years of use. Love it! Great for plane rides/ road trips too! see lessI highly recommend this tablet. My 18 mo old used it on a recent long car ride and what a life saver!! I recommend installing an app called "kids place". When he backs out of something it automatically comes back in 5 seconds. It makes it functional until he is older and can keep from backing out of some of the apps. I was able to find instructions to upload amazon underground easily enough and found a ton of great free apps. I like that this unit will grow with him and hopefully last many years.

I am very impressed with this tablet! I was looking for a really good durable kid tough tablet for my 2 1/2 year old son. I choose this tablet because my girlfriend bought it for her 2 kids and they seemed to really love them. This tablet is built very very well, my son drops it a lot and it doesn't even skip when he is watching a show and it has no cracks chips and absolutely no damage at all whatsoever! I wish you could download the google play AppStore without having to hook it up to a computer. My 2 1/2 year old son absolutely loves this tablet and I love how much it is more of a learning tablet than other tablets. I recommend this tablet to anyone that is looking for a really good learning tablet for their kids!

****UPDATE****I have attempted to contact Nabi Custer service which they call "Happy Ambasador", what a joke! Wait time is over an hour and more. I sent an email to their customer service Nov. 3 and no one has responded to my emails for help with my son's Nabi. We are even Nabi Club members, as if that means anything. You can see my screen shots of my wait time, I still have not gotten through.*****Original rating below*****Purchased this Nabi Jr. in February 2015 for my 3 year old son. It was a big hit and very resilient. We loved it so much, and his cousins (ages 2 and 5) also loved their turns working on it! I purchased a second one and gifted it to his cousins! Story takes a turn when my sons Nabi Jr. begins to shut itself off randomly, and at times just after it came off the charger. Initially the screen warning stated "warm battery", then go dark. So the poor Nabi Jr. has sat unused for many months. This past week my son on several occasions has tried to use it again, and after taking it off the charger and gets excited to play, after about 2 minutes the screen states "low battery", and shuts itself off. I know it is charged, because I check the level when I plug it in. It does not make sense, my friend has bought a Sprout Cubbie and her daughter has used that non stop for over a year and still going strong. So I purchasd 2 and hope the one my sister has is still working, but my sons is not. Did I mention the product itself is awesome, the only issue is with it shutting off and overheating? I am not tech savvy, so I am not sure if it is hardware issue (battery) or if it is software issue?

I purchased 2 of these as gifts for my friend's kids. The packaging indicates that they are intended for kids age 4+, however, I bought them for a 1 year old and a 2 year old. Both kids quickly figured out how to navigate the apps and thoroughly enjoy playing with them. Kids are more tech savvy these days than many toy manufacturers seem to realize, so don't hesitate to give it a try with younger kids. They seem to be very well built and I expect them to last several years. They have some creative learning app preloaded to help teach a variety of subjects. The parents of the children I bought them for all remarked thathe they were impressed with the quality of not only the tablet, but also the applications.

Pros:* Easy to use for children. My daughter is 22 months and can grasp and manipulate smoothly.* With entertaining and bilingual applications. My daughter really enjoys drawing applications, the sounds of animals and the jukebox (with songs in Spanish).* You can download applications from the Amazon App Store (you buy 2 mini sago and are preferred my daughter).Cons:* Can not install Youtube. Similar applications in Amazon App Store are very limited and as much as I searched I could not install Youtube and / or google play in this tablet (I live in Colombia and many alternative video with that comes the Tablet by default can not be play)* The camera application stopped working after update via OTA to version 3 software Nabi (buy it a month ago and the camera worked the first 2 weeks, but after the OS upgrade the camera simply stopped working) .* I was unable to record this tablet in Nabi site support whenever I try to enter the serial, a message of "invalid serial number".Not if the 3 points against having to do with the Tablet was purchased by Amazon, but if so, it would be very unfavorable to Amazon (for 4 years I bought without any drawback) and would be very frustrating that this was my first bad experience.

I like it so far from just receiving it and kind of playing around with it. It is for my grandchildren and they have not been over to use it yet, but I'm guessing they will love it. I can't get my credit card information to take or my debit card information so not sure about that. If it doesn't take either I will have to return it.
