So glad I chose this radio- all the features and great sound
After much laboring and spending hours reading various reviews on this radio and comparing to other ones, I purchased this one and never looked back. This radio is the best bang for your buck. Not only does it look nice, I’d say more of a timeless classic look, but it has all the options you could want and is a lot less than then nearest contender I considered. Here are the main observations. 1. Sound quality is great from the lowest setting which is actually nice and properly low so unless you are right in front of the radio, you will not hear it much to cranking it up till it fills not only the room but you can hear throughout the house, and I’m sure the neighbors can too. No issues with the sound being distorted or crackly if it’s really loud. 2. Fantastic full function remote unlike some of the other potential contenders. Easy to use in one hand and easy to navigate all options on the radio. Easy to read the buttons and works like a remote should. Only minor inconvenience would be no batteries supplied but I actually prefer this as usually the batteries provided can be of inferior quality and unknown brand so buy two AAAs with some of the money you saved buying this radio over any other with all the features and you still saved a lot of money. 3. CD player works great. I was a bit concerned with some of the reviews saying that it takes a while to load but unless you’re not used to cd’s loading, this is the regular time for the cd to spin up and the laser to read the info on the cd. I think with the modern mp3s and whatnot, we’ve just gotten too used to instant on and play. I’ve probably played 15-20 hours of various cd’s with no issues. 4. Internet radio works awesome. More options than you have hours in a day to listen to. No issues whatsoever with the WiFi signal or reception, unless you’re in a room too far from your router. Sometimes it takes a few seconds to acquire the signal when you first turn it on but no issues as it’s done automatically after the initial setup. 5. FM and DAB/DAB+ work fine too. No issues and pretty easy to learn to navigate via remote or actual radio unit. When initially starting up, you have the option to scan for stations. After that you can just pick the station in DAB. Between internet radio and DAB, haven’t really used FM too much but it works well too, good reception and clear signal for most stations. 6. It has a great set up for the USB connection as that’s right there in the front so it’s easy to plug and unplug if you have your own mp3 files you want to listen to. I have not used the actual usb function yet but don’t foresee any issues as everything else works great. The headset works just as well if you want some privacy or someone doesn’t want to listen to your music and is very quiet on the lowest setting and as loud as your ears can handle on the upper limits- works great. I have not used the aux in port yet but I probably will once I get around to dusting off and setting up my old school vinyls. 7. The Bluetooth works very well and is easy to pair. A nice option if you want to stream the music you have on your mobile phone or are watching something on your tablet or smartphone and want a little bit more umph from the speakers. 8. Equalizer works very well too and is easy to access from the remote. A few more steps if you try to change it from the radio unit but easy enough once you learn the menu flow. Needless to say, it ticked off all my requirenements and it met and exceeded all my expectations. Unbelievable value for the money.

Impressive
Generally speaking, this is a superb product with all the mod cons you could want at a fraction of the price of a Pure or alternative. It's also relatively straightforward to use with a good manual to get you started. It also looks good and the digital colour screen is very similar to my iPod. The only negatives are that switching between audio formats is a little slower than I'd like, especially reading a cd. The sound quality is generally okay but it is not great compared to my older Sony system (which broke after a year!) The levels tend to vary between audio formats too though perhaps there is an equaliser control I haven't found yet. On the whole, I like this product very much and it's great value for money. Would definitely recommend!

Majority Kings Time to take a look.
This is my second buy from Majority, The other one being the Majority Girton 2, which incidentally I gave five stars too. Ok well this review is for the Majority Kings, which is advertised as a Digital Radio Music system, which it most certanly is but that's only the start of things. On opening the box which took about a minute and another five minutes to set up and I mean that literally, Everything is where and how you would expect it to be. two AAA batteries supplied for the remote control and after that I just plugged the Digital Radio in and without reading the instruction manual, it took no time at all to set it up. it asked for my internet user password which took a minute or two to work out how to put that information into the machine, but once in, I searched for a radio station, and that was it. the tone of the Kings is very good on all levels, great bass. good middle and top sounds all add to a great sound. The only negative and this is me being a bit picky is that it would have been nice to be able to save the radio station using a favourite button only found on the radio unit itself and not on the remote control. The CD which I happen to have thousands of and refuse to give away or sell, works just as you are used to, all the controls are just where you would expect them to be and works again just the way your used too. This unit for me is simply fanatastic I use it with an very old HiFi unit and with the Auxiliary and head phone sockets its not a problem so I can push it through my HiFi speakers. but this is really a stand alone unit and its very good, so if your looking for a nice radio and CD player then this is as good as it comes, but so much more than you might expect, you can search the internet for radio stations as well, you still have the FM station plus your Dab. at this price you can't go wrong. buy it and enjoy it. This really is a nice unit. great sound, easy to set up, and a treat to listen to. Mart

easy to use
This was never going to have a hard job replacing possibly the worst radio in the world but I was very, very impressed by the simplicity of the set-up. The WPS internet connection is brilliant and easy (unless your router is more than 120 seconds away - unlikely). The sound is, I think the word is, pumping; great bass, great acoustic and electric guitar. The menu looks a bit daunting at the outset but once the time, weather, EQ etc are set up then the favourite stations are only two clicks away. The CD feed is almost invisible but the sound is great and the volume is sufficient to make my rock selection available to the whole house whether they like it or not. All in all an impressive bit of equipment for a very reasonable price, especially as it has the Internet Radio.

Good sound quality, flaky components
Got this product because of the internet radio as FM and DAB is patchy when living in a flat. Easy to set up and install, gives huge choice of radio stations. I have found and set up over 20 favourites, most of those are non-DAB and non-FM. For the size of the speakers, the sound is very good. It has different EQ setting depending on what you are listening to e.g. "rock" gives a lot of bass and treble and volume. Personally, the "normal" setting (which seems to be the same as "flat"), to be perfectly fine on all stations. In any case, artificially induced frequencies distort the intended shape of the music. The CD player is fine, if a little mysterious, as it is does not have an ejecting tray, but a slot, hidden behind some material. Again, the sound is good. The display panel is small so you have to be close to it to read the station/track/artist. When the device is off, there in a dimmed analogue style clock face or larger digital display (the latter is easier to read and therefore most useful). The power lead was rather short (needed an extra 10cm). The look is a bit "block" like and somewhat austere. Whilst I don't think something like this has to triumph in looks, part of the front panel could do with a contrasting colour e.g. brush steel or something similar. 2026 update: as this device aged, the internet radio became increasingly temperamental and unreliable to the point where it barely functioned. The clock also stopped syncing with the DAB radio signal. The DAB radio became unstable no matter where the unit was placed. The unit was eventually replaced with a Pure model which is less unreliable.

Good unit if it works, CD got stuck, system freeze!
Let's begin; This is a very good "Majority" Digital BoomBox, the sound is very nice, bassy with depth that you would not think could come out of this small size. Only problem was it was working fine for just about 2 weeks, then it stopped working by means of (No Sound, system freeze?) with my CD also getting stuck in the unit and it won't eject?! The unit powers on and looks like its working but the sound is dead. This is the Majority "Kings" model with CD player built in, unit failed to output sound or even go through the menu system. So I lost my CD and unit when I return to Amazon. Sad to say I can't buy anymore Majority branded goods. The tech still needs working on and the units don't even last 3 weeks, very sad as it is a good unit, brand looks promising, quality nice and solid but not too heavy or bulky. Really am disappointed and I will be looking at "Ocean Digital" or "Auna" brand instead. I bought 2 Majority units, both failing for nothing it seems. Why are the units just failing after 1-2 weeks of normal use? You can buy if you like, you may get a good unit, and might work for you, but I can't take risk of buying a 3rd unit for it to fail in 2 weeks time? Im really not happy about this, but hey, it is what it is! 30 Aug 2019 Update: Still my CD is not returned, looks like it's not going to be returned at all. Another loss.

Lovely Radio
A great radio at a great price. Connects to the internet easy enough to access internet radio stations. Also has DAB and FM functions. With the Bluetooth connection I can listen to the music on my phone through the speakers. It also has a function for showing the local weather which was easy enough to access and set up. The sound is really good, it also has a graphic equaliser function. My wife set it up with the help of the instruction booklet that comes with it. She said that the instructions are plain enough and it was quite simple to put radio stations into the favourites list. It was a really good price too.

All the bells and whistles, not perfect but not bad
This has a lot of features. I find the FM radio side of it a bit counter intuitive, perhaps I will get used to it. I get signal fine, but the FM is fiddly. Otherwise having Bluetooth and cd is great. The sound is clear and the volume goes from really quiet to plenty loud enough for a living room. The only thing I haven't tried is the aux in, as I use Bluetooth. Sleep function is nice, you can set it to switch off after a set time eg 15 minutes, 30,45 etc. You could be listening to the radio or there are some calming sounds like birds or waves etc. It is nice being woken up to the radio, there is a choice of your choice of station or an alarm. I even think you could be woken to a cd but I haven't tried that. I used a range extender to get a better signal in my bedroom otherwise there was a lot of buffering loosing signal, I don't think this is a problem with the unit, but having a good wifi signal is a consideration for internet radio to work. There is also a nap alarm if you want a nap and to wake up after say 30 minutes. The weather display was a bit of a disappointment as the nearest town to me was 130 miles away and I don't have enough money to be interested in the financial performance of the stock markets! It is easier using the remote than the buttons and knob on the unit itself. Looks good too. A very compact all in one music centre, in my opinion not perfect (what is these days) but not bad.
