![Anon (Steelbook) [Blu-ray]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91lOhApdDQL.jpg)

Total digital surveillance of humans will ensure a life without crime in the near future, but also completely without anonymity and privacy. Until a series of cruel murders call detective Frieland on the plan. After all, suddenly the data collected in the “ether” is systematically manipulated, which could lead to the collapse of the entire system. It is only with the emergence of a mysterious young woman without a digital fingerprint that the investigation is moving, which will soon become a life-threatening race against time for Frieland... An oppressively realistic future scenario is the focus of genre specialist Andrew Niccol's latest sci-fi dystopia (“Gattaca” , “In Time - Your Time Expire”), which uses “Anon” to meet the fascinating look of a “Faster New World” on profound questions about total networking. Supported by Hollywood stars such as Clive Owen and Amanda Seyfried, who make the thrilling mix of “Gattaca” and “Arrival” a disturbing must for any science fiction fan.Bonus material:Trailer; Interviews (about 33 minutes); Director Andrew Niccol at the Munich Film Festival (about 57 minutes);

Imaginative and entertaining
An imaginative and entertaining movie. Well paced and well written parts for its protagonists Seyfried and Owen. Owen always seems to bring something very natural and real to the screen and doesn’t disappoint here.

"..A GOOD SCI-FI GEM.."
This review is for the film and the German Steelbook Blu-ray release.PLOT...In a world without anonymity or crime, a detective meets a woman who threatens their security.Anon is a nice easy simplistic watch, a small sci-fi gem that has great ideas and gives you plenty to think about, no big lavish effects and ships and explosions, just good simple story telling with interesting characters and concept, the movie visualy still looks really nice and gives us a hint of what the future could be like with our privacy on the line. The cast is all great, Clive Owen and Amanda Seyfried are good in their performances, from the director of In Time (also starring Amanda Seyfried) worth checking out if you love a slow pace but good looking sc-fi with a who done it story, this movie i should imagine went very underrated.The Blu-ray looks good in HDFeatures include several interviews with cast and makers (over an hour, English) trailer.Region B plays in the UK. Running time 100mins. 2018.Plays in the original English language audio, and German. Subtitles can be turned off.The steelbook is very nice front and back and makes a good addition to the collection.

Futuristic and creepily awesome 🤪😱😬
This is a bit of a "Marmite" film; As with Marmite, you will either like this film, or absolutely hate it. I like the film, but I don't like Marmite 🙄😋🤢🤮I've heard some very mixed reviews about the "functionality" of this film; Some people have said that "Clive Owen is an acting plank in this film" - It all comes down to personal taste and interpretation.A very futuristic Sci-fi film, with some great special effects, a world without anonymity where you can't get away with anything. It represents what may well be possible in a not too far away future, within a world of artificial intelligence and technology. A very strange, but very believable futuristic thriller.If you think that we currently live in a world where we experience way too much intrusion into our lives and there's an attitude whereby "big brother is watching your every move via search engines, CCTV & fingerprints being mined via your Smartphone technology", this is only the start of a very creepy future, exceptionally portrayed in this film. 🤪🤔😱😎

Three Stars
A bit disappointed in story line. Didn't like all the computer graphics coming up on screen either.

A lovely sci-fi gem
A delightful little find- there’s plenty of action, the direction is pacy, the acting professional and, important in sci-fi, believable.I don’t really get with the negativity on this one. If you like your cinema spoon fed, it’s not for you. But if you like having a little think about things, give it a go. 7.5/10

Clever film that made me think
I liked the look of the film, the futuristic greys and dullness. It introduces a dark side to what the future might bring as regards law enforcement and a new dimension as to where there may be lack of control (or perhaps more) depending on what perspective you look at.The sex and violence is not overbearing and the plot follows a plausible path in my opinion. It's a serious film, no real comedy but interesting. I would compare it to an episode of Black Mirror with a bit of a Hollywood twist which is no insult.I would recommend this to a friend. It's not too long and plays out at a good pace. I didn't get bored and that's quite unusual for me.Worth it for a rent :)

Watchdogs the movie?!
Lots of cool hacking tech, makes me think of things like the Watchdogs games except its a fairly pedestrian murder mystery / whodunnit under all that. Not sure if that is much of a bad thing, any more of the tech and it would have been Transcendence or Mr Robot. Probably only a 3-4 star movie really but its a fun glimpse into our future ... next week. Yay life is already a dystopian nightmare and we're all doomed ... more tech movies to keep us amused until then!

Coming to a Town near you!
While this film is a few years old now, it's never really been more relavant / relatable.A dystopian tale of government surveillance taken to the extreme, but with a splash of great actors and a captivating plot line, give it a watch.With no movies to speak of being made any more this is reminder of what used to be on offer on a regular basis.
