Is this any good for cleaning greasy eyeglasses?

A couple reviews were misleading. Here's the guidance straight from the manual on this question and it was bolded: "ATTENTION: - Glasses / Sunglasses with pre-existing scratches or cracks in the coating are not suitable for ultrasonic cleaning. Ultrasonic cleaning is only suitable for cleaning frames. - Antique jewelry, jewelry containing loose stones, and jewelry containing soft / porous stones like pearls, emeralds, amber and opal should not be cleaned in the ultrasonic cleaner. If you are unsure about whether you should use the ultrasonic cleaner on your specific type of jewelry, please consult your local jeweler." I ruined a pair of glasses. If you have even the slightest, think almost invisible, crack in the coating or a break in it where the lenses meet the frames (very hard to detect), the ultrasonic cleaner will vigorously attack these defects and start to strip away the entire coating, thereby trashing your glasses. If your lenses are COATED with anything, follow the manufacturer's advice and do not use an ultrasonic cleaner.

The manual calls "to celan watches with less than 30 mts of watterproof depth " does this mean that if I have a 50 mts it is not suitable?

The short answer is that regardless of the mis-worded/backwards instructions in the manual, you should never ever submerge any watch in an ultrasonic cleaner, period. The entire purpose of the ultrasonic cleaner is to aggressively drive water into the tiniest of crevices to clean out debris. The sealing gaskets for watches are not designed with ultrasonic cleaners in mind. Even diving watches are not tested against such aggressive environments. The ratings on non-diving watches are for brief submersions in static environments when brand new. With age the o-rings degrade. The seal around the stem isn't very tight to start with, and after a battery change the seal for the back is rarely very robust. Preset cleaning cycles is a fancy term for how many seconds the machine is set to run - 90, 180, 280, 380 and 480 seconds.

anyone have a solution that they think i should use for this for best answers

I use Simple Green or Fast Orange combined with warm (not hot) water in a 50/50 ration. This works best (for me) over any other cleaning solution combo for jewelry. I then rinse in clean water and use a can of compressed air (the kind you use for computer keyboards) to blow dry diamonds and give it that extra sparkle.
