Fits and looks great!
It was great when I got it, but I wish the zipper was higher quality. The the zipper started giving me trouble about a half year in. Originally, some parts of the pull tab would rotate which made zipping difficulty. The zipper sometimes would catch and some of the "teeth" of the zipper were knocked out of place as a result. Because these issues were mostly on one side, I dealt with it by avoiding fully unzipping/rezipping that side. However, after a few times of unintentionally actually using the zipper, one of the zipper sliders fully came off of the teeth. I am now using only one of the two zippers. I anticipate having to replace this case very soon, as I expect the other one will go soon.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------The sleeve fits the MacBook Pro retina 15 inch very snugly. I had a hard time finding a sleeve that was made for the retina form factor and was glad to have found this one.I love the jute exterior. Its not quite black (dark grey?) and matches the OS X Lion "grey screen".I haven't had any issues with the zipper rubbing on my Mac, but I am very careful to pull out a little when I am zipping my laptop up. I can see how it can happen easily if you are not careful, or if your sleeve is just a tiny bit too small. (If mine were even a millimeter smaller, I think there would be a problem and there could be variation in the consistency in the size of the sleeve)

Good case for Macbook Pro Retina
I originally wanted a hard case for my new Macbook and was first looking at the hardshell types but based on reviews I saw I didn't think Id be happy with the fit and finish so I started looking at these types of "slip cases". Im glad I got this instead. I fly frequently and Im always worried about scratching the finish on the Macbook while on an airplane, pulling it out from my backpack from under the seat in front of me, stowing it for a moment while I go use the bathroom or maybe pulling the computer out for a moment while sitting at the gate ect.......With this type of case I can pull it out my backpack and not worry to much. Because its a "clamshell" type of design, I can actually open the laptop and leave it in the case while its sitting on the tray table in front of me. The quality, fit and finish and overall build quality seems very good. The lining inside is super soft and it provides just enough padding to give a little protection. If your like me, your not going to be tossing your $2300 computer around anyway no matter what kind of case its in anyway and overall it does not add much bulk. The zippers are very high quality and like others have said, it does have a little lining to protect the edge of the computer from the zipper itself but you still need to be careful when closing and opening it up. A small detail that I like is that it has a little tag on one side. I use this as an indicator to which side the screen is on so I know which way to open it and stow it in my bag. (I always stow it with the screen towards the inside of my backpack) The only thing I will comment on is the color is not as dark black as the photos. Its more of a charcoal and has a funky texture to it which you may or may not like. Its grown on my as it feels a little more "high-end" than simple neoprene which many of the other cases are made from.

Broken in under a year under normal use.
I like that this sleeve was very slim and fit my retina perfectly (perhaps a tiny bit snug should have come with a slight lip on one side to protect the case from the zipper. But the zipper started breaking after about six months and is now completely broken. It's been less than a year and I'm careful with my sleeve. This is a ridiculous amount of money to spend on a sleeve if it has to be replaced every 10 months!

only for MacBook Pro with Retina display
It is designed for MacBook Pro with Retina display. It doesn't fit the old MacBook Pro 15" (which is good). The quality is ok. The price too high.

The Perfect Fit
If you're like me, you're looking for a sleeve that will protect your 15' Macbook Pro w/ retina.During my sleeve search I found (and unfortunately purchased) sleeves that were either too big, or too small. This one, is just right. On top of being a perfect fit, it's actually a really nice case. The lining on the inside is incredibly soft and it's profile as a whole is almost as thin as the laptop. Not to mention it looks just as good as a designer case you may spend upwards of a $100 on. In terms of aesthetics it's the belle of the ball excluding the people that went out and dropped a paycheck on a designer laptop sack.I had read that there were problems with the zipper scratching the corners of the laptop, it being a snug fit and all, but this problem is easily avoided by taking the time to nudge the laptop away from the zipper when you're closing it. Basically the only negative thing I have to say about this sleeve is that if you're in a hurry to pack up, you'll scratch your corners.5/5 Recommending this to all of my Macbook-owning friends.

Zippers Scuff the MacBook's corners
It's hard to find a snug fit for the 15in Retina, and this sleeve almost made it. However, no matter how careful or how slowly I closed it up, the zippers would scuff up the aluminium in the front corners of the notebook. The scuffs would be easily wiped off, but the longer I used it the harder it was to wipe them off. I'm certain with time, they would permanently damage my machine.Perhaps this was a bit too tight a fit by a couple of millimeters, which I feel could be shaved off if they removed the permanent cloth tag on the inside of the sleeve. Shame, it was a nice sleeve. My search continues...
