Does Exactly What I Needed UPDATED 6/1/2016
Purchased this for 2 reasons; I needed something tall enough to move my Window A/C cold air across an 18' room, to the sitting area, and to move cool late evening air into the house. Bought this after returning a Vornado 184 Whole Room Tower Air Circulator, 41", so I'll be comparing the 2 a little. Sitting 18' from the Fan, on Low, this is almost moving too much air and is giving me a chill {remember it's moving A/C chilled air}. Within 30" of turning this on it has cooled down this room about 3x's faster than just having the A/C turned on. Within 2' the A/C compressor has kicked off, which normally takes at least 3' without the fan on.I have found, by its temperature reading, that having the oscillation on will cool a room faster then even setting the fan on a higher speed. This is 'not' advertised as a High Volume Residential Fan but I believe it should be. On Low, it moves more air than my old 22" pedestal and 20" desk fans together, when they were set on High at 18'. I almost want less volume on Low, sitting 18' from the Unit, as the amount of air is drying my eyes out. May be time to turn on the humidifier :)I'll try to list things that are not in the factory review. I'll update this as things come up.UPDATE: Cold weather is hitting here early. I have a double-sided gas wall furnace for the entire house's heat. Wanted to check if this worked as well moving the heat around the living room. This sits 12' from the heater, which does not have a fan (old model). Since this has a thermometer on it I can see if using this will circulate the heat around the room and into the kitchen area. With the fan Off, the far side of the room where this fan sits only raises 4F./2C. when the heater comes on. With the fan On, the same area will raise up to 8F./4C. (old house with little insulation). So yes, this fan is worth the money as it will keep my gas bill down and I use the remote control to turn on the fan whenever the heater kicks on.UPDATE 6/1/2016: I've have this over 2 years now and it is still working great. I probably turn it on close to 10 times a day, by the remote, to circulate either the heater's warmth or the A/C's chilled air. Only thing I've had to do to it is change the batteries once in the Remote. Also the little hitch in the oscillation has disappeared.PROS:Strong fan, even on Low I can actually feel this blowing/moving air over across the room. Vornado talks about moving the air so much better than the other Tower Fans, but this puts it to shame w/o the oscillation even on. This WILL move air across a 20' space without a problem, while on Low. For using with the A/C, I just point this across the room towards the far side of a wall and it `circulates' the air around the room. No need to even point this exactly at the sitting area.cETL Listed [basically the same as UL]. Comes with a polarized fused plug. Cord is 6' long.GRILL: is removable in the front, so the fins can be cleaned. (I haven't found another tower fan whose grill is removable...others can only be somewhat vacuumed with a Dusting Brush or blown out.)OSCILLATION: is fairly smooth. There is a small hitch in it around center when moving counter-clockwise. Will work in all Modes/Speeds. Slower oscillation than other fans I've owned. 3 full rotations take about 1". Rotation speed is identical at all speeds.DISPLAY: is Digital. Shows Speed Graph, Modes, Rotating Fan Blades, Oscillating (moving) Arcs and Room Temperature...If the Timer is set, then Temperature and remaining Hour/s will interchange around every 5 seconds.BEEP: Unit will beep acknowledgment when turning On/Off or changing the programming. It is loud enough to hear across the room when using the Remote.REMOTE: comes with 2 AAA batteries. Remote operates Power, Mode, Speed, Oscillation and Timer. Remote will sit flush, except for the buttons, in the top of the fan head. This is a 5-button remote, though it has 6-buttons [per their website that is an ION button, which this fan doesn't have]. Must be in line-of-sight to the front of the Unit where the 'eye' is.BASE: No Tools Required, as it comes with 'Wing-Nut' bolts [found out these are called 'Wing Head Screw Bolts'] for mounting the Tower to Base. 2 piece base slips together like other tower bases. It is very sturdy.FINISH: is a Semi-Gloss Black. Unit is all black except for the faux chrome box outlining the display 'and' 3 color animated display. It's easy to wipe off.SOUND: On Medium and High Speeds, this fan is quieter than the Vornado 184.TIMER: Turns unit Off. Works in 1' increments up to 12'. Unit has 2 Timer buttons; 1 advances, and the other decreases the time. Remote's 1 Timer button advances the time.VENTS: start 10" off the ground. They are 26" long & approx. 4" wide.EASY TO MOVE: This does come with a recessed handhold. I find it easier to just pick it up with both hands, as it is somewhat cumbersome.MODES: Normal is a constant air flow.Sleep and Natural On Low, have the fan On for a count of 3 and 4 then turning Off for a count of 7 and then repeat. On Medium and High Speeds they are a mishmash of variating speeds. If you are going to use one of these specialized modes, I would suggest that you use them on High. One thing these do allow is the accumulation of cold A/C air around the fan before pushing it across the room.CONS: this is me picking on this fan. I'll try to list things others have listed in their same type of reviews, though they may not be important to me.INSTRUCTION BOOKLET, no help really. Comes in English and French languages, no Spanish.POWER ON: Does not keep the previous settings. Fan will be on Low. Mode will be set on Normal. Unit will not be oscillating.BEEPS: are loud enough to possibly wakeup someone else in the room.PLUG FUSE: Have no idea how to change it, or its size. Instruction Booklet does not mention it.NO POWER LIGHT; which would tell you if it is the Unit's Motor/Electronics, or the Plug's Fuse, if this was to stop working.SOUND: is a rather 'high-pitched' whiney sound, reminds me of a PC/Laptop exhaust fan. On Low Speed, sitting 4' from me, it is loud enough to make me have to turn up the TV sound but so is the 12yo 6,000 Btu Window A/C Unit when the compressor is on.MODES: the Sleep and Natural Modes I will rarely be using. They remind me of an appliance during 'brown-outs'. When the electricity is too low, and varying so much, that it's hard on the appliance and you know they should be unplugged so the motor doesn't burn out. Plus, with the speeds continually varying, the case is continually torqueing back and forth. I don't want to add that stress to the oscillation gears. There is No Description about the Modes in either the instruction booklet or their Canadian website. I don't know any person who would want to listen to a unit powering up and down, on and off, at different rpm's constantly. I believe this would keep someone from sleeping soundly, as they might think it's having electrical problems and their subconscious wakes them up to unplug it because of an electrical fire danger. I `thought' the Natural Mode would be a variable puffing type breeze, it's not. I 'thought' the Sleep Mode would be a lightly varying breeze, it's not. IF a Mode is engaged, then the Animated Blue Fan Blades will be varying in speed also.DISPLAY: Cannot be turned off. Shows Centigrade only, no Fahrenheit option. Not sure why this has a temperature gauge, as this is a Fan not an A/C unit. I don't need a 3 color 'animated' display; which shows me the Oscillation's Double Animated Arcs, and Room Temperature in Lime Yellow (they call it green). Spinning Fan Blades, which rotate faster at higher speeds, and the Natural Mode's Pine Tree logo in Blue. Plus the Words/Acronyms, Speed Graph, and Sleep Mode's Crescent Moon & Star logo in Amber. I would have been happy with Small Idiot Lights.SMELL: I received this after it sat in a hot delivery van/warehouse over the weekend with 100F.+ temperatures. When I opened the box the smell of plastic was basically overwhelming [housing & especially the packing bags]. I went ahead and put the base onto the unit and then placed it out on the porch. I left it out there about 6' and when I came back the smell had vanished. All in all, I really like this fan. It suits my needs much better than the Vornado 184. IMHO, Royal Sovereign wasted money on the display and funky modes that could have been used for sound dampening, but as I said that's me picking on this fan. I do prefer the actual sound of the 184 Vornado, as it is a deeper sound, which is more soothing to me. Having the TFN-45D for almost a year, has made it much easier to block out the sound but the TV still needs to be turned up a touch. My volume is normally set on '6'. I have to bump it up to '7'. Loudest I've ever turned this TV to is 14, have no idea how high the #'s go. I can't stand the quiet, but I also have sensitive hearing. Please make sure to check the sidebar seller listings. Amazon's listing is sometimes listed in there instead of the headline price, and they 'normally' beat other sellers prices. Plus, you really can't beat Amazon's return policy.

Do not buy....
Great design and concept; short o implementation. I purchased two units. Assembled both and plugged in first one. There was no movement of air. Plugged in the second one and it worked like a charm. Asked for a replace that I received in a expeditous manner. Assembled it and plugged it in, turned on power and nothing. I would say that there is a quaility control problem.

Not Working!
I received the product without the remote, and the fan doesn't blow any air, just oscillates. I'm totally disappointed
