Great pochade box! I have the 11" x 14" New Wave UGo and have been using it for several years with no complaints. It's lightweight (approx. 4lbs), fits easily on a tripod with a quick release plate and has an adequate mixing area. Comes with a removable plastic palette that can be replaced with a glass one. I use the removable side wings for additional space to hold brushes, etc. A well-made box. Would recommend.

Over the past month, I’ve been looking at what is available online and how it fits with what I need: something lightweight, compact, sturdy, well-made, with a large palette to mix paints or able to hold my large lightweight plastic Masterson, and also able to hold various size boards for oil painting. It also had to be able to connect to my dad’s sturdy old tripod because I did not want an art easel and wanted to carry something that my dad loved. I initially balked at the cost of this but decided to buy something when my makeshift pochade was too unstable and bulky. This is made in PA and I liked the idea of supporting local businesses that make products in the U.S.. Went outside yesterday to paint and I am completely thrilled with this setup. I can see myself going everywhere to paint outdoors with this, and often. Thanks so much, Blick for carrying this, and UGo for making it!

It's nice. I couldn't decide between small or large so I got both. I find them both to be pretty handy depending on how large/heavy I want my carry bag to be. I still need to buy the extending piece so I can use for bigger canvas. For watercolor it's nice that the magnet holds my paint tin and it folds flat to be a table (which works better for watercolors often). I'm going to try them with oils soon. Looking forward to using oils outside where the fumes are less toxic. The only thing I don't like is the large metal sticking off the box making it harder to fit in a bag, I have to worry about the metal scratching other objects or the bag. Also it does not seem to be functional, so that's pretty dumb imo. Pricey but sturdy. Wish there was room inside to store my flat ceramic palette so it would be protected. Pretty much no room inside, I find. But lovely quality anyway.

sturdy, lightweight, well made. I love it for plein air. I have the smallest one and I do have to add water etc. so if weight is not an issue for you, get the larger one...

This was much more sturdy than I had imagined. The magnets that hold everything in place are very strong. It is also compact. I think it will probably be my favorite. It is a good size and I wanted to be able to use a larger size artboard / canvas then the smaller versions. It seems sturdy, well made and attractive! I also like that it is made of wood and that made it easy to use my Dremel to etch my signature into the back side of it.

I love this for painting on my little table I also have the gorilla painter box, but this is my favorite. I especially like that I can mix my paint right in front of me. I don’t need a separate pallet. It was expensive, but it’s sturdy. Very happy with my purchase.
