Folding Shelf Bracket (Sold Per Each) by Selby Hardware

I purchased two folding shelf brackets to support an 1/2" thick x 18" deep x 5' long desk we attached to the wall to save space in a small bedroom. I made sure to attach them to wall studs to help support the weight and hoped the brackets would be strong enough to support the rest. They work very well, just as I hoped. When done using the desk space, we simply fold down the desk where it rests close to the wall. The desk does lean slightly back to the wall which we could have leveled with some shims, but we decided to keep it as is because it is so slight. We simply pinch the end of both brackets while lifting gently at the same time to release the brackets to fold the desk down. These are a bit pricey, but for the space saving abilities and the weight they support, they work very well, and I would definitely purchase these again.

Bought 2 of these to build a shelf in front of TV to set laptop on while steaming..As others have said the joints are very loose. When attached to the wall the tip of the bracket moves 2 to 3 inches from left to right. Once attaching the shelf it's not as bad.Besides the joints the build quality is very good. The release mech is very nice and simple. Other folding brackets I found at Home Depot had very clunky and complex assemblies. This one is simple and works very well.Seller shipped product quickly.I would buy these again in the future.

High quality white powder coat finish. Nifty locking and release mechanism... BUT it's not at a ninety degree angle when it is in its non-folded away position! It is off a few degrees and tilts back towards the wall it is secured to. Perhaps this is intentional... I don't know. But I'd like it to be square with the vertical wall it is attached to when it is in its position as a shelf or table. A minor change in the distance between the centers of the holes in diagonal support arm would fix this. Otherwise, you have to mess around with adding tapered shims on the shelf bottom or behind the wall attachment points to make it really square with the wall... kind of a pain and time killer to do accurately. The shims look ugly too, if you are picky about such things... I am.

I've never written a review for anything but had to for this. I used it for a 12 inch by 12 inch shelf. It is firmly attached to the wall and the shelf to the bracket. There is so much play in the bracket it is unusable. It has rivets at the pivot points and they have way too much play in them. When the shelf is up and locked into place it flops all over the place. It wouldn't matter if there were two brackets. They would both have the playbin the pivot points and it would still flop around. I can't imagine what kind of shelving installation this product could be used in

The Bracket itself appears to be fine but I've ordered three now. The first on came as expected with a white enamel finish. I realized I should have bought two so I ordered another and it was bare metal. I returned that one and purchased a third and it was raw metal too. I need a second one but I'm not sure I want to spin the wheel and loose again.

I bought this to build a drop-shelf for my travel trailer. I attached it to the trailer walls using a pop rivet gun and then attached a wood table top to the other side and have been loving it. The mechanism is really easy to use - just pull up until it latches. Then to drop the shelf, just squeeze the button - no pinched fingers!The only minor nit is that there is enough play side to side that you have to lift in a straight line to get the shelf to open squarely and clear the nearby countertop edge. I only used one lever for my needs - I imagine if you were using two of these for a bigger shelf or to hold more weight that wouldn't be an issue, but it's really not a problem in daily use so I'm not going to hold it against them.

I used 2 of these for a laundry room table like several of the other reviewers. We have a laundry room with limited space and wanted a little more room for folding clothes. The table had to fold away to access the cabinet in our laundry room. These brackets worked perfectly for the need. I used a section of laminated counter top that matched our cabinet counter. The brackets seem fairly strong and support the table well. I love the way the release buttons are easy to find by feel. The only drawback is that when they are folded out the front of the table droops a little bit, requiring a shim between the front of the bracket and the table. Not a big deal. I highly recommend these for any similar application.

These brackets are semi-sturdy, and work just fine. The pivot points, are a little loose, and the rivets, are just not snugged up the way I would have done if I was adjusting the machine that stamp them in.However, the paint and finish is nice, and the catch is solid.The screws are long enough, and the holes are well aligned.When attached to the shelf, and wall, they are solid, and work perfectly.Priced a little high.shipping was a little high as well.
