Snug & Comfy
Overall I am satisfied so far. I paired these with some new trail shoes and have only gone for a couple runs on both. I am finding it slightly difficult to find a balance between the tightness of each shoe (again, maybe related to breaking the new shoes in as much as breaking in the laces). I am not in love with the locking mechanism as it is an open enclosure. I can forsee that causing problems on long trail runs. Probably just a personal preference, and the lock has not actually failed, but I did end up buying a closed 3rd party lock button system. The laces are secure but allow for movement and flexibility. Good price point. As easy to install as most standard shoelaces. Would consider again!

The best no-tie shoelace I've found.
Headline sums it up. I've tried 4 or 5 no-tie shoelace systems. Most of them worked at least passably, but to me this one stands out. It's the only one I've bought more than once, and I've bought it several times and wear shoes with them every day. Easy to install, easy to adjust, and seem to not ever slip, even after years of being in the shoe. I'm sure they'll wear out eventually, but so far it seems not before the shoe does. It would be nice, since it's not something you'll do every day, if they'd put a readable image on the package itself of how to orient the locking anchors and thread the laces through those and the end clips. It's all on the web site, and you can puzzle it out pretty quickly too, but it would be convenient.

Very convenient and may not need adjusting in putting on or taking off
Takes a bit to get used to, but they are superior to usual laces. I use them on my mephisto walking shoes. Because they are elastic: 1) I can push into the shoes without adjusting the tension, though a shoe horn makes it easier. 2) I can just slip out of the shoes 3) Walking is more comfortable because of the laces flex as the foot expands or contract. They are never too tight or too lose once you discover the (non-critical) optimum tension range With such treatment they tend to loosen after many trips, but a few second easy readjustment fixes that. They never become untied like traditional laces and seem very durable, unlikely to break.

Love the concept but they didn’t last
It took a little bit to get the laces adjusted to where they were comfortable but once they were right, it was great to be able to slip my shoes on quickly. They stayed exactly as I had positioned them, the anchor and cap holding everything really well…until one of the laces broke. It didn’t even last a month, and I was not wearing the shoes on a daily basis. I don’t know what caused the failure as I checked the eyelet of my shoe for a sharp spot and did not find one. The laces were not overly tight, and it broke where there was not a lot of tension on it, so for now I’ll give this product the benefit of the doubt and purchase another pair because of how much I like the concept and how it makes putting my shoes on so quick.

Prefer Over Lock Laces
Before this on some of my shoes I use Lock Laces, which are a good idea and seem like a good product still, but the locking part seems to protrude out more which means that the bottom of my pants don't as easily wrap around the shoe. This Xpand lock design doesn't come out as much but rather sits more flush on the shoe tongue. Also if I recall they claim that it's stronger locking. From what I can tell so far it seems to be a better design. Either way you go, these no tie systems seem good, for my needs at least, especially if you wear some kind of shoe around the house or for whatever reason have to frequently put your shoes on and off. Also, not sure if the elasticity of the laces help a bit with wearing comfort.

When I was a kid, I hated tying my shoes. As an adult, I still do. Shoe technology has advanced so far, and yet here we are still tying delicate little bowties to keep our shoes from flying off like it's the middle ages! Where are the self tying shoes that Back to the Future 2 promised? In today's busy world, shoe laces are nothing but a hindrance. Modern problems require modern solutions. Enter the Xpand elastic shoelace. Sleek. Stylish. Comfortable. And lightning fast! No more delicate bowties. Simply pull the laces, slide them into the slot, and let go. It's just that shrimple. A shoelace for the man of tomorrow, today! On a more serious note, I have been using Xpand laces for over three years. They are my go-to shoelace. Every time I get new shoes or boots, I buy some Xpands to go with em. The elasticity keeps em snug on my feet while the stretchiness keeps my feet from feeling restrained the way tight shoelaces usually feel. It also makes putting them on and removing them a breeze, essentially turning your shoes into slip-ons. And the adjustability allows you to wear thicker socks on occasion and still enjoy the same level of comfort. The plastic latch that the laces slot into is incredible solid. Just be sure to really yank the laces and pull them into the slot as far as they will go for a super secure tie that will never let you down. I prefer these round laces over Xpand's flat laces because here the lace ends rest on top of your shoe. While it's not a 100% seamless look, it's way more comfortable than tucking them inside the the top eyelet like you do with their flat laces and adjusting them is far more simpler. Installation is a little more complicated than regular laces. I recommend wearing your shoe and adjusting the tightness before trimming the lace ends, and leave the ends long enough that you can tuck them underneath one of the further lace straps with lace to spare, as the pull tab that the ends install into will take up a chunk of those ends. Something to note is that up until less than a year ago, the plastic pull tabs at the end of the lace were prone to busting open if they didn't get a good grip on the lace ends when you install them. But recently Xpand has been using a new pull tab design that clamps down even tighter onto the lace ends for a super secure grip. I have yet to have the new pull tabs become even a little bit loose after installing them. And even if the tabs or the latch gets loose, it'll still be 100 times less often than your shoelaces coming undone. Overall I highly recommend Xpand laces. They're comfy, secure, and efficient. Just what a shoelace aught to be. Buy them, your future self will thank you.

I had scoliosis surgery, which left me incapable of reaching or being able to tie my own shoes. This can be embarrassing when in front of others as they wait for you to get going. its also problem when going for a walk and i get a rock inside my shoe or something akin to that. Generally speaking, my back makes it that much harder to just do something normal like go for a walk. The laces help relieve that. 100%. Theyre easy to set up, even easier to use, and ive already had a set of the other style and theyve lasted for over a year so far. As cheesey as it is, these gave me back a bunch of mobility and normalcy in my life that i lost from that surgery. Great product and easily one of my favorite purchases. I genuinely show everyone i know how awesome these laces are, especially for someone whos disabled.

Like a charm! It’s like they were made for them! On and off with ease and as fitting as you’d like them. I now have slip on Timberland’s, the only downside is that now I have to replace the laces in all my Timb’s as that just won’t do! Get the round one’s.
