I had one of the $500 chrome covers fly off and replaced it with this. I liked the look so much I bought another for the back.

Works really well when trying to back up on slippery gravel and your legs touch the hot pipes. Install is easy. Make sure you have a power drill to speed the process up by a LOT. A bit excess sticks out on my rebel 500. I do wish there was a matte option to match the rest of my bike.

Rather than go out and pay for brand new V&H slip on's over some minor surface rust, I looked around and located these. And they did the trick. Easy five minute installation, look good and do all I need them to do. Well worth the money even if not used as a heat barrier, rather for something like what I used them for.

This doesn't block the heat from my pipe at all - as a matter of fact it makes it worse and burns my leg

I have used this product on the exhaust pipes of my truck. The truck has a wooden bed and the exhaust pipes sit right under that wooden bed. Some sort of heat shield is needed to prevent the exhaust pipes from causing the wood bed to over heat and burn -- as happened to me recently. This motorcycle exhaust heat shield looked like it might work. I ordered two -- one for each pipe. The shields themselves are terrific. They look good. They fit well. And they do the trick. But installing them was another matter because the two clamps that come with each shield are of very poor quality. When I tried to tighten them, they wouldn't work. They are made of very thin metal and they would not track properly: they just twisted. I went to my local hardware store, invested $15 in good clamps and that ended the problem. As the photos show, the shields are in place and are a perfect fit -- thanks to the replacement clamps.

My kids CRF80 was missing the muffler guard, this was an easy fit to add some extra protection for his leg, just two hose clamps and its all ready to go. Definitely recommend if you need one for a range of different bikes.

Works OK to protect passenger leg from burns on honda 750 shadow. Add to every 750 shadow if you intend to have passenger as Honda certainly ignored installing effective shielding on all 750 shadows.
