Honeywell HRF-B1 Air Purifier Filter, 1-Pack – Airborne Allergen Air Filter Targets Dust, Wildfire/Smoke, Odors and VOCs

The price for the pre-Filter needed for my humidifier is nee and I like the subscription offered. This filter helps keep my humidifier clean.

This is part of a 3 part filtration system for my HEPA filter. Trying to find the N type box filter replacements at an affordable price from Honeywell is impossible. They now charge you $66.95 for one pair and you need a pair for it to do it's job. This B+ is a prefilter used to get larger particulates and eliminate odors using carbon which does work. To replace the N filters though I've found a company who DOES sell them for a reasonable price and they ARE the same as Honeywell's N. The only difference being the frame is made of rubber and the Honeywell versions were framed in plastic. Doesn't matter as far as use goes, I get the same efficiency and results at a reasonable price. You can operate without the B+ filter but why? All you're doing is shortening the lifespan of your N type filters which are also more expensive. The large dust particulates will clog up the N filters in no time. The B+ I can wash for one more use and then order a new one. Just common sense here.

This little filter along with the primary (filter) are making a difference to my indoor air quality. I live on a busy street, so dust is always an issue, yet with this filter I see less dust, which is a plus for me.

Several reviewers have pointed out that when they purchased this product they received a knock-off or something that looked different from the picture. For those of you considering ordering this filter, pay close attention to the seller of the product. Some vendors "game" Amazon's system by undercutting the Amazon price and offering free shipping so that they appear in the seller list above the Amazon entry, and the top one becomes the default seller on the main product page. Take a look at the section directly below the price for the words "Ships from and sold by...". If it is not Amazon, then you may be buying the product from a different vendor. When I viewed the product page before ordering, I noticed that the default seller was not Amazon, so I clicked on New seller listing link below the summary (http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B0063KBJ7O/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new), then scrolled down until I found the Amazon entry, then clicked the Add to Cart button next to it. This ensured that I would be ordering a filter sold by Amazon, rather than a different vendor. The price was a little higher than other vendors, but I knew that the filter would come from Amazon and would be the exact item shown on the page. I did this and the product I received was indeed the one shown in the picture and came in a Honeywell box in good condition. So if you're thinking about ordering this product, check to make sure that you're buying it from Amazon to guarantee that the product is OEM and comes in Honeywell packaging.
