Not pleased, even with the price!
I know I am going against the grain of all these glowing reviews but here is what I have found. 1. No USB cord provided! 2. You have to buy a special paper (they don't state what it is in the book) that has tear off tabs at both ends and narrower than most 4x6 paper. Paper needed is HARD TO FIND. Regular Canon 4x6 paper DOES NOT WORK! I've tried many other brands, none fit or print. 3. Ink cartridge only prints 5 SHEETS! These cartridges are also hard to find. (meaning you can't always pop out to Walmart or an office supply to get it.) 4. NOT INTUITIVE. MUST READ MANUAL and it is still not clear. 5. Battery not included, must buy seperately. 6. You have to buy any other paper cassette size separately (not included) Conclusion: May be cheap but you'll pay and pay for the supplies to keep it running!

Best photo printer we've owned...
We've had a LOT of photo printers over the past several years and we have never really liked any of the ink-based ones. I knew dye-sublimation was the way to go, but the cost of the printer and ink was prohibitive. Until now! This seems to average out to a still-steep 25 cents per print, but the quality is WAY beyond anything an ink-jet could ever do. And they are instantly dry and water proof! My wife (kinda non-techy) uses it all the time and was stunned at the quality. Extra bonus: the printer is *tiny* The only issue thus far was a few prints had a strange "embedded hair-looking" white line (a slight defect on the print). It only happened that one time and we have not seen it happen since. I suspect it was a few bad peices of paper in an otherwise fine set. At this price I can't recommend it enough for those immediate gratification prints, but I'd stick to the Walgreen's, Ofoto's and Apple print services for bigger batches.

Ancient model, no longer made by Canon
It didn't work well. It turns out it's a very old model which Canon doesn't make any more, they even don't have spare parts for it. We wanted to return it to the sender, but they didn't want it back! We got a full refund thanks to Amazon.

Was upset to order everything for this printer, only ...
Was upset to order everything for this printer, only to discover my camera is not compatible with it, as well as the fact that it is not compatible with my version of windows 8. Checked the website, and there is not any software or downloads available to make this printer compatible with a windows 8 computer. I have to go through a lot of setup to get it to print a picture, and since it is not compatible with my camera, I have to transfer my sd card to another camera, then print from there, and I am unable to do any editing to a picture, so most of them that I have printed, have a tendency to remove important features on my pictures It says that this is compatible with windows 8, but it all depends on what version of it you have.

Not Thrilled
The idea is a good one - small dedicated photo printer anyone can use. But the unit is actually fairly complicated for the novice user I bought it for (my mother), and it requires fairly expensive consumables and requires special Canon photo paper.

A Lot of Bang for the Buck!
What a great little photo printer! I just got mine and it's fantastic. The quality of the printed photos is outstanding. The prints look just like the ones you'd have printed at Target/Walmart/etc. The printer itself is tiny, perfect for traveling. There is also a Li battery pack available if you wish to print on the road. Overall, this printer is very easy to use, whether you are printing directly from your camera or from your computer. The only reason I didn't give this printer 5 of 5 stars is because there are a few extras that you need to purchase in order to be totally all set. If you wish to print photos you have stored on your computer, you need a USB cable (it's not included with the printer). Also, if you want to print the tiny credit card sized photos, you need a separate paper holder adapter (you can find them here at Amazon). And you may wish to pick up additional ink cartridges. The included ink cartridge yields about 5 printouts. Other than the minor points mentioned above, I am totally satisfied with this printer! :)

WE LOVE IT!
I purchased this item to take with me on a trip across the U.S. My husband and I were able to send postcards, with our pictures and places we had seen, to our small grandchildren. It is portable, easy as pie to use and we love it. Take pictures with your digital camera, hook up to the machine and print. That easy. Pictures are wonderful and color is great. We were not disappointed. We could also download pictures to our laptop, edit them, and then print them. Just took a few minutes during our downtime in the evenings at our hotels, then we'd mail them the following morning before taking off again. Got so many oohs and aahs from the desk clerks.

Don't waste your money
This is a horrible printer. Do not waste your money. Is not compatible with windows 8 or anything but Windows XP, if you have an older camera it will probably work on that. The Canon Selphy CP 710 may be a newer version and better. But I will not be trying it. If 'you can get it to work, printing out a few pictures would be fine but you would not want to print out several it would take a long time because it takes several minutes to print out one photo.
