Healthier "Birth ball" option
After using several different fitness balls over the years, I decided to get this one when I bought one for myself because of all the warnings on the others! "This product contains chemicals known to the state of California to cause birth defects...", is a warning found on the packaging of most fitness balls. That wasn't something I wanted to be using on a daily basis, and have around my new baby after birth. I did a lot of research, and came up with the EcoWise fitness ball as a healthier option. It doesn't smell bad or toxic, unlike some of the exercise balls. There are some downsides to the different material- It's not as soft/flexible/rubbery. It's definitely a stiffer material, a different feel, but does it still work? Yes. I for one have been very happy with it! I haven't used it for exercises, really, though. I use it instead of a chair. It works just great for that. Also, note that it does not come with a pump to blow it up- I'd really recommend you have one!

Ok product, but there are better options
I revieved the honeydew 55 cm ball in the mail today. It is good quality and there was no bad smell. I got this ball specificly because I wanted something non toxic. The box says "Latex,PVC,Phthalates, and Chloride Free" which I love! The ball is made of a "non-PVC burst resistamt material" I felt a little overwhelmed when I first saw the straw that they give you to inflate the ball. It took my husband about 5 minutes to inflate, and it wasn't as difficult as we thought it would be. I think for the price it should come with a pump though! Overall this seems to be a good product but if I had to do it over again I would buy the Natural Fitness 300 lb. Burst Resistant Exercise Ball It is a "non- toxic phthalate free material and comes with a pump, instructional dvd, and 2 plugs. This Eco Wise ball only comes with one plug and the straw. The Natural Fitness ball is cheaper too. I searched all over the internet and couldn't find the Eco wise ball for under $35 (including shipping). The Natural fitness ball is $26 with free super saver shipping on Amazon. Additionally, I like the plum color of 55cm Natural Fitness ball much more compared to the Honeydew color or the 55cm Eco Wise ball. The honeydew is similar to seafoam green in person.

Broke within a month
Updated review: One month after buying it is breaking!!!!!!! Below you can see my initial review. Now it has a little hole on one of those areas that had folding marks. Do not waste your money. I ordered this ball because it is less toxic than the PVC ones. I didn’t want a PVC ball so I was willing to pay more to get something less toxic. The plastic is weird, very hard and has some marks where it has been folded. It does the job but don’t expect it to be as a normal ball. It doesn’t really bounce for example. It comes with a straw to inflate. It is good if you are willing to pay more and have a worse ball over all just because you want something less toxic than a PVC ball.

Flat upon inflating to correct diameter.
I bought the 55cm green ball. It was still flat upon inflating to 55cm diameter. I was hoping there would not be a smell since this ball is PVC free, but there is still a rubbery smell due to the TPR. I don't mind the firmer material, but I would like to air the ball up a bit more and still know that it will be safe for the material to withhold, but I don't know what that diameter would be. The price is high compared to most exercise balls, but I figured it would be worth it for a non-PVC material. After using the ball though and having trouble with how much I can safely inflate it, I don't think the price is worth it. Silly that it comes with a straw for inflation... I used a hand pump.

No smell, very firm, difficult to inflate, no pump
I purchased this Ecowise ball after an extensive search for a PVC-free odor-free exercise ball to sit on. I was willing to sacrifice on the color, which I dislike. It is sort of a weird candy green color in person - the current picture is fairly accurate. It would be much better if it were actually the same color as a honeydew melon. The ball is odor free. However, the no-smell material is thick and not very stretchy or flexible at all. As far as exercise balls go, I would categorize it as "extra-firm". Thus it is very difficult to fully inflate the ball, particularly with the straw provided for inflation. Ideally to fully fill the ball you would overfill it slightly then quickly insert the plug. Since it is impossible to overfill this ball due to the super thick non stretchy material (at least with the straw - and I also tried an air-bed pump), you cannot ever fully inflate the ball. It still works ok, but it's not very bouncy. I do not currently know of any better eco-friendly odor free balls available today, so I gave the ball 4 stars. However, I really wish the ball was a different color and it came with a hand-pump. You should probably order a hand pump with this ball if you don't already have one. The Natural Fitness ball is another option, but there are some reports of mild vinyl odors with that ball. I believe that ball is made from phthalate free PVC, whereas this ball is PVC-free.

Least Toxic Yoga/Birthing Ball!
This ball is great, inflates easily with a pump or reverse setting on vacuum. Material is thick and color is nice. I've been in the market for one for a while, however they are all made of the highly toxic PVC. This is the only one I could find that says it is not, and the lack of smell/shininess to the ball proves it. This size is great for smaller/shorter people.

Workmanship
After inflation many short lines white in color are visible on the surface of the ball. Looks like the ball is a either a used product or the workmanship is not fine enough.

not good
This ball is stiff, crackly, and has a mind of its own. It refuses to stay put on carpet. I finally got rid of it. I like the ones by Gold's Gym -- they act like exercise balls are supposed to. And if you go up a size and buy a Stay-Ball, it's perfect as a desk chair.

With a new baby in the house we've switched everything we can to safer non-toxic versions. I was looking for a yoga ball to help with labour, and was delighted to find this product was safer then the average yoga ball should my baby decide to mouth it later.
