Great monitor, easy to use.
Great monitor. Plugged everything required in then started Ubuntu 24.04 laptop. Had to enter laptop Disply settings to make the Viewsonic primary display then everything worked very well. Closed laptop lid then resolution on monitor changed to maximum. Very nice picture, great touch response. Quick & accurate. Delighted with the Viewsonic TD2465 Touch. Well worth the money.

Does NOT come with drivers for the touch screen
I researched many available touch s teens for a new point of sale construction, so responsive touch screen was a absolute must. I contacted the seller and they confirmed it worked on a Mac, their website even includes a PDF of how to install it, specifically listing the instructions for M1 macs! Didn’t work, I enlisted a tech expert and they couldn’t get it to work, they did however find a driver from touch base for it. The driver supplied by view sonic was 3 versions earlier than the one the tech expert found. It instantly worked, all was well, for an hour, then it was realised it was a trial, the license for it is £95! I have had to pay this fee to have the system work, it works flawlessly now, but I shouldn’t have had to pay £95 extra when it’s clearly listed as touch screen Amazon didn’t care, they offered a return but I had already bought £1000 work of new Mac and accessories for this new Epos point, I was past the line for rerun and have had to pay the license fee separately

Was expecting better...
Don't get this if you're wanting classic ViewSonic image quality. Set up with a recent year BenQ 25" screen, the BenQ is better. As expected. But also simultaneously with a 23" AOC 8-year old 95% sRGB monitor, it also fails. The touch screen works fine (once you can dig into Win 11 multi-monitor settings to get the touch registering on the right screen - right-click windows icon, select run, then type in ' shell:::{80F3F1D5-FECA-45F3-BC32-752C152E456E}' and follow the dialog ). But the picture quality is absolutely sheer mildly below average. I don't care if it may be >100% sRGB in colour accuracy. It is just disappointing. I bought it to go abroad with while working (editing images) rather than lugging my BenQ with me. I think I'll be packing my BenQ in the car with me, even though it takes up about four times the space once boxed up.

No HDMI
Yes everything said it had HDMI there is even an HDMI cable supplied but there isn't an HDMI input. Once upon a time there must have been but not now. You have VGA and display port only. Very disappointed I now have to get and HDMI to DP converter. So ZERO points for comms here.

The glass surface is quite incredible. It's reminiscent of a gigantic smart phone. The picture is very crisp and if dialed up completely the contrast is incredible. The menuing system is easy to use and features capacitive touch buttons at the bottom of the screen (no mechanical buttons). I'm using this as an instrumentation panel for a milling machine and so far it looks great! The touchscreen is fully plug & play under Fedora Linux 31 (kernel 5.5.11). I use the XFCE4 window manager and I disable compiz because I have a low-end graphics card. There is no lag at all and touching windows to open and close is seamless. Other bonuses: there are built-in cable sheaths at the back which snap on and off and serve to hide the cables and the jacks. It makes the back of the monitor very clean looking, which is important if you are using this in a customer-facing environment. It's also a very clean and safe feature for e.g. restaurant applications. The only drawback to this monitor that I can see is the built-in stand at the back. Although it's well built and fairly strong, any touch screen like this needs to be locked down to something using the VESA screw bracket at the back. That said, it's hard to think of a built-in solution that would be better than a flip-out stand like this one. You wouldn't want this sitting on a classic "arm and a plate" like most other computer monitors. The fold-out stand does let you angle the monitor upwards at 30 degrees or so, which is awesome for standing desks. All in all this unit has greatly surpassed my expectations and I will return to edit and maintain this review as my setup evolves around this unit. Thanks Viewsonic!
